Trent Reznor and the Nine Inch Nails

Updated on February 8, 2013

You and me we're in this together now, none of them can stop us now, we will make it through somehow!

"When I look at people that I would like to feel have been a mentor or an inspiring kind of archetype of what I'd love to see my career eventually be mentioned as a footnote for in the same paragraph, it would be, like, Bowie."

"I get involved with the set design, lighting and the use of film because I always hated seeing bands in arenas. They usually suck. You're not meant to see rock shows there. You're meant to see a basketball game. In approaching the idea of arenas, I asked, 'What can I do in arenas I can't do elsewhere?' I tried to make it unique, help frame the music, and make it more like theater, so it starts at one place and winds up at another."

The Downward Spiral - the second studio album of NIN, released on Reznor's Nothing Records label

When the Downward Spiral was released in 1994, I liked it, straight away! I agreed with many of the lyrics and the soundscapes, in their harsh power, the elements of distorted sounds and industrial feedback were something new for me. I still list the Downward Spiral as the best album of the NIN and often refer to it, or take some tracks out for playlists.

And All That Could Have Been, 2002 - Nine Inch Nails Live DVD

We're in This Together - Mark Pellington edit, the original version

We're in This Together - on Halo15 and the Fragile

"I've become impossible

Holding on to when

When everything seemed to matter more

The two of us

All used and beaten up

Watching fate as it flows down the path we

Have chose

You and me

We're in this together now

None of them can stop us now

We will make it through somehow

You and me

If the world should break in two

Until the very end of me

Until the very end of you

Awake to the sound as they peel apart the skin

They pick and they pull

Trying to get their fingers in

Well they've got to kill what we found

Well they've got to hate what they fear

Well they've got to make it go away

Well they've got to make it disappear

The further I fall I'm beside you

As lost as I get I will find you

The deeper the wound I'm inside you

For ever and ever I am a part of

You and me

We're in this together now

None of them can stop us now

We will make it through somehow

You and me

If the world should break in two

Until the very end of me

Until the very end of you

All that we were is gone we have to hold on

All that we were is gone, but we have to hold on

When all our hope is gone we have to hold on

All that we were is gone but we can hold on

You and me

We're in this together now

None of them can stop us now

We will make it through somehow

You and me

Even after everything

You're the queen and I'm the king

Nothing else means anything"

I've always liked Trent's style. More of a fan of the first three releases than anything else, but I hope he does more soundtracks. Great lens btw.
