Tron My Dream Movie

Tron - Spirit Whisperer's Dream Movie

Tron the Dream Movie

I went to see the movie Tron with my wife and children last night. Rated PG it had no sex, swear words or blood and guts gore as so many movies nowadays have grown to rely upon. On the surface the storyline explores the father/ son relationship with all the complications of modern life. The story does not need to depend on special effects or images to shock because the theme is captivating.

Tron is dream like in that when the movie ends I felt I was waking from a dream. The dream images connect in a way that creates the illusion of dreaming. The movie, therefore, has the potential to slip past the critical factor and plant it’s powerful metaphor in the subconscious of the viewer. Like any dream the message of Tron the movie is multi layered. The three obvious layers are the physical, emotion and spiritual aspects of its message.

On a physical level Tron could be interpreted as a metaphor for the human body and how the conscious and subconscious influence its harmonious functioning. If the Isomorphs represent peace and harmony within then there are the white blood cells to protect it from dis-ease. If our thoughts represent the programming code then Flynn is the ego programming his subconscious to create perfection. The subconscious takes everything literally it has no sense of humour so Flynn in his ignorance has created a Frankenstein like monster hell bent on self destruction. Even the white blood cells turn on themselves and dis-ease is created and grows like a cancer in the body.

On an emotional level Clu is Flynn’s subconscious and Sam is his Inner Child. Flynn’s story is our story. We all start life almost completely ignorant of the power of the subconscious and how our most common thoughts, words and actions are taken by our subconscious as the things we desire. We are oblivious to the dynamic between our conscious and subconscious minds and only when it is too late do we then realise that we came into this world perfect. We fail to acknowledge the miracle under our noses and get lost in trying to create what we already possess. The Inner Child is always tugging at our sleeve trying to get our attention as we become more and more consumed with the pursuit of happiness without. It is by turning within and becoming child-like again do we regain our peace, harmony and happiness.

On a spiritual level Christ took human form in order to interact with humans. Kevin Flynn takes digital form in order to affect the digital world of his creation. There are a number of references to self sacrifice in order to achieve freedom and there is the ultimate self sacrifice at the end of the movie.

I would give this movie 5 stars and I would highly recommend people of any age to watch this movie because it very effectively reminds you that you are much more than you “think”.

If you are a parent this movie teaches human values and its message of hope is something they can take subliminally from this movie.

You can ask Amazon to notify you when Tron Legacy comes out on DVD but in the meantime:

As a family we watch at least one movie together every weekend and it is now a tradition. We also have a collection of DVDs that we have built up over the years. I wrote ahub listing some of them https://hubpages.com/entertainment/Inspirational-F...

I will definitely check out Cogerson and you might like to check out myi4u who is also a fellow movie buff.

We had a great weekend and if you ever want to know about what we get up to please check out my blog on the new website.

I do have one question for you and it is to do with a recent publication of yours https://hubpages.com/literature/The-code-of-silenc... which went completely over my head. Could you explain it to me? Thank you.

Do you categorise your poems so that you have them saved under specific headings? e.g. Love poems, Spiritual Poems, Grief etc?
