Hollywood royalty Tyler Perry had a major role in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's abrupt move to Los Angeles, California. The Daily Mail has reported that Perry had helped the couple by sending his $150 million private plane to get them to Los Angeles in a top-secret operation. The low-key early morning operation enabled the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to leave their temporary house in Canada and quickly move to Los Angeles without being noticed by the paparazzi. As they were flying in a private plane, the royals didn't have to wait at customs upon their arrival.

“It was a well-planned operation that appears to have worked perfectly,” a source, who was involved in the mission of getting Harry and Meghan to Los Angeles, told Daily Mail. The British tabloid recently revealed that the royal couple is currently staying at Perry's $18 million Beverly Hills mansion. However, people are still curious to know how the couple managed to travel from Canada to California without alerting the media outlets about their move. According to Daily Mail, Perry's plane left Atlanta at around 1:35 am on March 14 to get Harry, Meghan, and their one-year-old baby named Archie to southern California.

It is still unclear whether Perry was himself present on the private plane when it went to Canada to pick up the couple. Tyler Perry's high-valued private plane is an Embraer-E190, which is basically a modified version of an aircraft used by JetBlue Airlines in the United States. Five hours after leaving Atlanta, the private jet arrived at a corporate airport in Portland, Oregon, where it stayed for more than one hour before embarking on a journey to Victoria International Airport. Victoria is roughly minutes away from Harry and Meghan's temporary home in Canada where they were living since they left the British royal family.

The British royals boarded Perry's jet at around 6:45 am and it left Victoria Airport at exactly 7:35 am to return to California. The private plane arrived at the Hollywood Burbank airport at 10:01 am. Perry had purchased the $150 million Embraer-E190 in 2017 and keeps it at McCollum Field, an airport located in Cobb County. Cobb is a suburban county in Atlanta. Perry had received huge tax incentives amounting to $1.8 million to house the private plane in Atlanta. The tax break was given to Perry as part of a hush-hush plan called ‘Project Meatloaf.’ Instead of being directly registered under Perry's name, it is owned by a holding company called ETPC Aviation.

Perry's private plane can go up to the speed of 540 mph and has the capacity to carry more than 120 passengers. “It's an absolute beast. Why anybody would want a private plane of this size is beyond me,” a source, who is very well-versed in the domain of aircraft, said to Daily Mail. Harry and Megan's move to the United States came shortly before Canada decided to close all of its borders as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. So far, the royal couple has never been photographed with Perry in public. According to numerous news reports, Oprah Winfrey was the one who had introduced the couple to Perry.

Since moving to Los Angeles, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have only been spotted a couple of times. The paparazzi mostly spot them when they are helping the locals by delivering food to them or when they are walking their dogs. As of now, it is not clear whether Harry and Meghan are staying at Perry's Beverly Hills mansion as renters or as guests. According to the property's papers, Tyler Perry hasn't sold the massive mansion to anyone.

Both the Sussexes and Perry view Oprah as their mentor in the world of Hollywood. Not only this, but she has also signed on to be the godmother of Perry's five-year-old son Aman. It was announced in September of 2019 that Prince Harry has partnered with Oprah Winfrey on a documentary series regarding the importance of mental health. “Meghan and Harry have been extremely cautious to keep their base in LA under wraps. Their team helped them choose the location for their transition to Los Angeles wisely. Beverly Ridge has its own guarded gate and Tyler's property has a gate of its own which is watched by their security team,” one insider told the Daily Mail.
