Early Years

Tyler Garcia Posey was born on October 18, 1991 in Santa Monica, California. Posey had two brothers Jesse and Derek. Derek is older than Posey and Jesse is Posey's younger sibling. Tyler's father is John Posey who is also an actor. Tyler received his first acting role on stage with his father at the young age of six. Since then Posey has been interested in the art of acting and has been actively pursuing his dream.

Since the age of eight Posey has acting consistently on film and on television. He has appeared on shows such as Smallville, Without a Trace, Doc, Into The West, and Lincoln Heights.

Movie Career

Posey starred in a multitude of movies as a child actor. Tyler even auditioned for the part of Jacob Black in the Twilight Series movies but the part went to Posey's friend Taylor Lautner. Tyler has starred opposite of some of Hollywood's most successful actors including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jennifer Lopez, Danny Glover, Charlie Sheen, and Molly Shannon just to name a few.

Posey has starred in Collateral Damage, Maid in Manhattan, White Frog, Inside Out, Legendary, and Scary Movie 5.


In 2011 Posey landed the role of a lifetime on the MTV television show "Teen Wolf." Posey was cast as Scott McCall the lead role in the Werewolf teen drama.


In addition to being an actor, Posey also fronts the band "Disappearing Jaime" and plays guitar for the band. They had their first performance at the Roxy in 2012.
