"Underworld: Blood Wars" Movie Review
Underworld: Blood Wars is undoubtedly the worst of the series. The film began with a cryptic opening and continued to throw scenes at us that made no sense at all. It felt like they dropped the film's pieces onto the editing floor and forgot what order they went in so they just hurriedly spliced it together and didn't double check their work.
I've been racking my brain the last two days trying to figure out how I'm going to possibly write a 300 word essay on this film. It was all over the place and hard to follow. There were times when you weren't exactly sure why someone was there or what they were doing. The action sequences were well done but that was about the only good thing about it.
I've heard people say that seeing it in 3D was a huge mistake and I can understand why. There were many times when the blood looked extremely fake and I imagine 3D wouldn't help that any.
The ending seemed to lead into a sixth film, but it was in such a cryptic way that the audience has no clue what the meaning of Selene's final message was or even what to expect in the upcoming (final?) entry.
Overall, the film had major issues that just are not forgivable. Good, fun action sequences doesn't make up for a lack of a plot. I give the film a 1 out of 4.
