Guide To Upcoming Rock Albums
A list of upcoming rock and heavy music albums.
LOU REED & METALLICA - LULU (Oct. 31st)
This should be an interesting combination. I have a lot of trouble imagining how this pairing will work out but I have been waiting for a new release from Metallica. I guess we'll have to see at the end of October.
MEGADETH - TH1RT3EN (Nov. 1st)
Back in the saddle again Dave Mustaine and company are about to deliver their thirteenth album of music. It is the last album in their contract with Roadrunner but given that the last album debuted at #9 on the Billboard 200 and this one already has a lot of push behind it if Roadrunner doesn't resign them another big name label will.
SIGUR ROS - INNI (Nov. 7th)
Anyone waiting for truly new material from Sigur Ros will still be waiting but in the meantime they can check out this cd/dvd of live performances.
R.E.M. - PART LIES, PART HEART, PART TRUTH, PART GARBAGE (Nov. 15th)
It is disturbing that R.E.M. that have been a bad for seemingly ever are disbanding. What's going on? Well for all you die hard fans there is one last saving grace and that would be this compilation of material from throughout the many years.
NICKELBACK - HERE AND NOW (Nov. 21st)
The outside world may see these clowns as the top of the rock music world but I really haven't liked them since they released the song, "How you remind me." The fame has done nothing good for them and has just gone to their heads. Chad Kroeger is only obsessed with how many records he can sell and writes ridiculous songs about the hollow lifestyle he now embodies. As a Canadian I can remember a time when they were respected but that was a long time ago.
THE BLACK KEYS - EL CAMINO (Dec. 6th)
Not exactly what I think of when I think of rock but many consider them to be rock. I will give them this their videos are cool.
KORN - THE PATH OF TOTALITY (Dec. 6th)
Korn is a mainstay of heavy music but they have lost a lot of their mojo since Brian "Head" Welch left the band. Their last couple albums have tanked commercially and have been slim on the artistic offering we have come to expect from Korn. I for one hop this album puts them back on the map.
CHEVELLE - HATS OFF TO THE BULL (Dec. 6th)
This is one album I would not want to miss. Chevelle is a truly talented band and have been releasing consistent albums with great songs. The first single, "Face To the Floor," is classic Chevelle and I know this album will be incredible.
