Upcoming Hollywood Movies In May 2017

Well, it seems that the month of may is full of entertainment. Movies of almost every genre i.e. Comedy, documentary, romance, sci-fi, action and drama are there in the list of this month's releases.




1. Alien Covenant

This Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, and Billy Crudup are the main star cast of this movie.The film is a science fiction horror film, written by John Logan and directed by Ridley Scott is releasing on 19th of this month in 2D and IMAX 2D. It is the sequel to 2012 film Prometheus. The film is about the crew members who along with some new members and equipment travel into the galaxy on the vast spaceship called covenant to establish a new colony on some other planet and further it narrates the unexpected bad situations they face there and how they escape from there. The film is made on the big budget of $ 111 million.

2. Diary of a Wimpy Kid-The Long Haul

Releasing on 19th of May, this one is a comedy movie. The film is based on the book of Jeff Kinney with the same name. It is the sequel to the film Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days which was released in 2012 and the fourth film overall from the Diary of a Wimpy Kid franchise. The star cast of the movie includes Jason Drucker, Owen Asztalos, and Charlie Wright in the lead roles. The film will follow the story of its prequel where Greg Heffley and his brother Rodrick plan to go on a road trip to celebrate their grandmothers 90h birthday but their intention is something else. Well, you have to wait and watch to see what it is.

3. Everything, Everything

The film is a romantic drama, releasing on 19th, directed by Stella Meghie and written by J. Mills Goodlloe. The film is based on the novel of Nicola Yoon of the same name. Amanda Stenberg and Nick Robinson played the lead roles in the movie. It's a story about a teenager Maddy (Amanda Stenberg) who is very self-protective and self-centered, 18-year-old girl, and how she falls in love with her neighbor Olly (Nick Robinson) though, they talk to each other only through texts and stare each other through a window.

4. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

The Johnny Depp, Javier Bardem, and Brenton Thwaites are the main star cast of this movie and scheduled to release on 26th of May in Digital 3D and IMAX 3D formats. It's an action-fantasy film. The movie is the fifth movie from the Pirates of the Caribbean series and sequel to the Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, which was released in 2011. It is directed by Joachim Ronning. The movie spins around Capt Jack Sparrow(Johnny Depp) and his experience about the winds of ill-fortune, and his search for Trident of Poseidon. Releasing globally on 26th. The long wait of seven years is going to end soon.

5. Baywatch

This is the second most awaited movie of this month after Pirates of the Caribbean and they both are going to clash due to same day release i.e. 26th of May. It's an action-comedy film. The star cast of the movie consists Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, and Priyanka Chopra, the well-known name of Bollywood film industry. The story narrates as how a devoted lifeguard together with his time burst the gang of local criminals. Both the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and Baywatch movie going to clash on the same day.

6. Buena Vista Social Club- Adios

Releasing on 26th May is a documentary film, based on the 1999 documentary with the same name as Buena Vista Social Club. This film revolves around the five band members and their experiences about their final tour that ends in their hometown in Cuba. The film is directed by Lucy Walker.

7. Drone

Releasing on 26th May. It's a thriller movie, Directed by Jason Bourque and its star cast includes Sean Bean and Patrick Sabongui. It's a story about a drone pilot (Sean Bean) who accomplished several dangerous missions in other countries met a Pakistani business who came to his home to take revenge. Well, you have to wait and watch to see what happens next.

The two most awaited movies of this month i.e. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and Baywatch are going to clash as they have the same day release. Let's see which one of them proved to be a worth watching film.
