A crazed fan named Michael Abrams broke into the Harrison house in 1999 and began screaming for George Harrison to come out. Harrison told his wife to call the police and he went to see if he could talk to Abrams. By the time everything was over Harrison had been stabbed seven times.
Harrison ended up with a punctured lung and a bad stab wound to the head and probably would have been killed but his wife beat Abrams away from Harrison with a fire poker. Abrams claimed in court that God had told him to kill Harrison and he ended up spending only 19 months in a mental hospital for his attack on Harrison.

Decca Records made one of the biggest mistakes ever made by a recording company and rejected the Beatles in 1961 less than a year before Beatlemania was to sweep England and the rest of the world. An executive with Decca Records told the Beatles that they had no future in Show Business and they should face that reality.

The Beatles Were Together From 1960 - 1970
But very few bands ever had an impact on modern music like the Beatles did. Did you know that between 1962 and 1970 that over two dozen Beatles albums were released. Most Beatles records both 45's and albums are worth nearly $100 in perfect condition. Perfect condition means that the record has been played very little if at all and all the album or 45's cover or sleeve is in nearly perfect condition. The newer and better condition its in the higher price it will bring. Even a little damage or dirt can bring the price down. If the record has been played a lot you may just want to keep it and play it yourself.
The White Album which came out in 1968 is the most popular and most sought after album. An unopened mint condition copy of the album will bring twelve hundred dollars or more.
Abbey Road which was the Beatles last studio released album is one of the most sought after albums and in mint condition it sells for as high as four hundred dollars.
There are still a lot of great Beatles records and albums still out there to be found. You can pretty much go by the better condition they are in the higher price they will bring. If you plan to sell the record or album and it has never been opened then leave it that way. In mint condition they will bring the higher price. Be sure to do careful research and keep a journal with carefully detailed notes.
If you have a collection of Beatles Albums or Beatles records then first of all you need to sort your albums and records into fair, good , and mint condition. Then you need a real good guide like Perry Cox's "The Official Price Guide to The Beatles Records and Memorabilia," This guide provides the best guide to the condition of the records and albums and the price they should sell for.
The Beatles were around for only 10 years but during that time they recorded records and albums under various labels. Keep in mind that promotional copies of 45's are rarer still.
You need to learn the labels You may know what the Capital and Apple labels may look like but the Beatles appeared on a variety of labels under many different colors. Some are of course more rare than others.
Now its time for a reality check. Records were made to be played and if a record was played a lot its price is going to be low. The record may not have any sale value at all if it has been played heavily. If its been played heavily it may have a place in your collection but no one else is going to want to pay a lot of money for it. You need to be honest with yourself when your going through your records and albums and deciding what condition they are in.
But if you have a Beatles record or album in mint or nearly perfect condition you just may be able to get a few hundred to a few thousand dollars for it. Do good research and make sure what you have is really what you think it is. If your going to sell it on E Bay your going to have to be real sure.

Vintage Beatles Albums. What Are They Worth?
I remember the night they performed on the Ed Sullivan show. It was the 9th of February 1964 and I thought it was one of the wildest and best things I ever saw. Even way back then 73 million viewers in 23 million households watched the Beatles. It was for many years the most watched TV show in history. The next morning the Beatles woke up to negative criticism on the TV and Radio. Most people were claiming that the Beatles would ruin the youth of America. A day later though Beatlemania would erupt. Their first American concert was held at Washington Colosseum and it was a huge success. Thanks in part to the Beatles new song, I Want To Hold Your Hand which had came to America before them and was a huge success. Below is a video of that song.
Back in New York the next day the Beatles did two sell out shows at Carnegie Hall and then they flew to Florida and appeared for a second time on The Ed Sullivan Show. This time in front of an audience of 70 million. They then flew back to England on the 22 of February.

I have a lot of their early albums from the early days and they really will bring what you can get people to pay. I've seen albums signed by one or more of the Beatles sell for $10.000 or more while some albums that are more rare with ads on the rear of the album can bring in the low thousands.
If you have a Beatles Album or even a collection of them you should first of all check out the condition of the album and the LP or record inside. The better the condition the more it will bring. Artwork is important. Everything needs to be perfect if it is going to bring the higher price.
There are unfortunately a lot of fake Beatles signatures out there. I have seen many albums the owners claim were signed by the Beatles when they were not. Do not buy a signed album until it has been verified authentic by an expert. Be sure to check out everything offered as proof with the album.
More About The Beatles
It was during the week of April 4th 1964 that the Beatles held 12 positions on Billboards top 100. And this included the top 5 positions. In August of 1964 the Beetles returned to America and did thirty concerts in 23 cities. It created intense interest in the Beatles. Their concerts were only thirty minutes long and between 10 and 20 thousand fans attended each concert.
It was in August of that year that the Beatles meet Bod Dylan and he introduced them to marijuana. Dylan made a strong impression on Lennon and before the year was out Lennon was imitating some of Dylan's style and Dylan's nasal drone.
And then in early 1965, while they were his guests for dinner Harrison and Lennon's dentist slipped LSD into their coffee. Lennon later described the experience as terrifying but fantastic. He said he was stunned for a month or two.

Vintage Beatles Albums - What Are They Worth?
You may not get rich off your vintage Beatles albums but you can make some good money especially if you have some of the rarer items. If your interested in finding vintage Beatles albums you can find them at yard sales, flea markets, and thrift shops. I find them for sale all the time at local thrift stores here in my area around Charlotte North Carolina.
If you decide to sell yours or what you collect try selling on E Bay. Its easy to sign up for an E Bay account and you will quickly find out what your vintage Beatles albums will bring. Two key pieces of advise I can give you are to take great pictures for what you list on E Bay and list your auctions for 7 days. I usually have better luck for some reason if I start my auctions on Tuesday. You also need to write good descriptions. If you don't have a good quality digital camera consider buying one and become really good at using it.
I usually don't set reserves unless it is something really rare. If you do you'll often find yourself not selling your item.
And before you list your item or items always check out your competition. What are their items selling for and how long until their auction ends. How good is their description. Do they give good well researched information about their item or items. What kind of condition is their item in. All of these things are very important. The more detailed you can be in your description the better the chances are that your item will bring the best price.
I have never checked E Bay when there wasn't a huge selection of vintage Beatles records for sale on E Bay. Do your own research and see what items the same as yours are bringing. You aren't going to get a lot more than the usual selling price for your item. You should know that the rarer your item is the more it will bring. Vintage Beatles Records that have never been played always bring more. Albums still in the original plastic covers almost always bring more. If you do happen to have a vintage Beatles album in great condition and signed by one or more of the Beatles then it could command a great price.
You should keep a carefully detailed journal about the items you sell on E Bay and what did the item bring. Be sure to write down careful notes so you can refer back to them later.

At the time the award went primarily to military veterans and civic leaders.
The Beatles made history during their third tour of the United States when they showed up to perform at Shea Stadium and 55.600 fans showed up to watch them. This happened on August 15th 1965. Many people consider that concert to be the most famous Beatles concert ever. It was towards the end of their third US tour that they met Elvis Presley. Beatles Album Sold For $10.500 At 2005 Auction
In June of 1966 Yesterday and Today one of the compilation albums created for the US market by Capital Records created an uproar in the US market. Its cover featured the Beatles dressed in butcher overalls with raw meat and broken plastic baby dolls in the picture with the Beatles. Thousands of the albums had a new cover pasted over the original cover. The new cover could be peeled off if you wished. One of these original unpeeled albums sold for an amazing $10.500 at an auction in December of 2005. If you have one you should check into selling it. Resist the urge to peel the new cover back. It will bring the most in as original condition as possible.
About this time John Lennon made his statement that they were more popular than Jesus Christ and it caused controversy and many Beatles Albums were burned across the United States by churches who considered this the final insult by the Beatles. The Beatles only made one more American tour after this.
LSD Guru Timothy Leary had a huge influence on the Beatles at this time and it was about this time that Strawberry Fields Forever and the Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band album were released. In 2003 Rolling Stone Magazine ranked Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band album as the number 1 Rock and Roll Album of all time. However John Lennon was assassinated in 1980 and he never knew of this great honor.
The Yellow Submarine and the White Album
Here the Beatles music got a little stranger and it was during this time that the British Press turned against them. For the first time ever the British Press called their music rubbish.
In the American film , Walk Hard, The Dewey Cox Story Dewey meets the Beatles in a tent and goes on a acid trip with them. The surviving members of the Beatles says that all the Beatles liked Yellow Submarine including him. But most of the British Media that had supported the Beatles strongly in the past did not.
But you have to keep in mind that the Beatles formed in 1960 were the most successful and critically acclaimed group of the rock era. No matter where you are in the world people know who the Beatles were. They were my favorite rock band of all time. The Boys from Liverpool are the best band ever.

The Death Of John Lennon
I was working for the Village Voice when John Lennon was killed and I was there for hours outside the Dakota in the rain. I saw more hurt in peoples faces that night than I have ever witnessed in my life. And I'll be the first to admit that I was hurting to.First John and Bobby Kennedy, then Martin Luther King and then John Lennon. I remember thinking why does the world have to be so crazy.
I remember Yoko's simple statement the next day, ' There is no funeral for John, John loved and prayed for the human race. Please do the same for him. "
Many people had blamed Yoko for breaking up the Beatles and now she was saying no funeral for John. I remember people standing in the New York streets in a state of shock. I think it would have been much better for everyone if there had of been a funeral. A lot of New Yorkers and a lot of Americans loved John Lennon.
