Voice vs Autotune

Good Example of Talent

What happened to true talent?

Let me begin by saying I can't sing. I know I have no talent for it. But I also know not to attempt it. These days, you don't have to sing well to get a deal or make it big. There are so many "singers" these days who use the studio adjustments, auto tuning, flashy videos and costumes, and gimmicks. I won't even say I don't like these people, I do. I listen to just about every kind of music, watch the videos posted on YouTube, watch the TV shows, all of it. I love music. I do wish there were more out there who could really and truly sing however. People who can sing live, no lip synching. People who can stand on a stage, no music, no help, and just sing a capella. Those people deserve applause. What's sad are the ones who started out being able to sing, then got a deal, and now rely on the gimmicks. It's like they forget how to sing, or why they are singing. I miss the passion in the voices and purity of the music.

Below are a few of my top picks for amazing voices. Next to this, I have included some links to where you can purchse the songs or CDs for these people.

1. Adele

2. Dave Grohl-Foo Fighters

3. Flyleaf

4. Boyce Avenue-does covers

5. Karmin-more covers plus originals

You are correct. Real talent is needed anymore to make millions. As long as you can talk into a microphone, you can get a record deal, easy as that. People with actual talent don't get the recognition they deserve. Nice Hub!
