Movie review

‘Warm Bodies’ is based on a novel of the same name by Isaac Marion. Just watched it recently and really liked it. I have the e-book, but have not finished it. The story is romantic between a zombie and a human. The zombie named R, played by Nicolas Hoult, does not remember how he became a corpse, his name or how he ended up at an airport. His best friend is M, played by Rob Corddry, who is also a zombie. The entire human race has been wiped out because of an zombie apocalyspe. Zombies have pretty much taken over the world; they don’t talk just grunts and moans. There are some humans that stayed alive and live in another part of town, if any corpse comes their way the humans shoot them in the head. Colonel Grigio, played by John Malkovich, will stop at nothing until the zombies are stopped and killed. There are these skeletons called bonies that pretty much have no humanity whatsoever and will kill any human. The humans come to the abandoned airport to kill the zombies, R shows up ready to fight but then he sees Julie, played by Teresa Palmer. He falls for her instantly, but is shot in the chest by her boyfriend Perry, played by Dave Franco. R kills Perry and gains his memories by eating his brains that is the only way he feels human. He starts to have visions at how Perry and Julie met and fell in love and starts falling for her more. He plans to protect her from the other zombies by rubbing dirt and blood on her face to mask her scent. R keeps Julie safe in an old airplane where he lives and she sees how nice he is and starts to like him as well. R starts to feel something he has not felt in a long time: human. He has a heartbeat and compassion. The others zombies see the connection and love between Julie and R and start to feel as well. This movie actually had on my toes because I was wondering what will happen next. They have not done a zombie love story before, not any that I know of anyway. I liked the chemistry between Nicholas Hoult and Teresa Palmer as their characters they played. Rob Corddry has played comedic roles and he was funny and scary in this movie. John Malkovich played Julie’s father and was kind of ruthless, but I do not blame him because the zombies turned his wife into one of them and was forced to kill her. If anyone has not watched the movie yet, then I won’t give much away to ruin the whole movie for you.

@kereeves3 that was my favorite part too. Also the makeover and when he finally went to sleep.

I also really liked this movie. I was a little skeptical at first, because I'm not usually in to zombie movies, but this one was pleasantly funny and cute. The soundtrack was great also!

My favorite parts were when R is shown in his little airplane home, either alone or with Julie. I will most likely buy the DVD when it comes out!

I've watched this movie in theaters and loved every minute of it. I didn't know this was based on an actual novel until after seeing the movie. Am curious to read it now to see how true to the book the movie was.
