We Will All Have Stars In Heaven.-(A tribute to all the poets here.)

Updated on December 13, 2010

Winter comes

in virgin white,
and weds me to

my fire tonight,
my fingers gripping

warm wood tight,
a pencil for the

poems I'll write.

Divorced from seasons

that would stall,
me in the sun

or scented fall,
but winter brings

my passions call,
to pen some hope

for one and all.

For each piece

of our heart
we give away

to those around us
in the heavens far above,
angels record

what will astound us,
our souls will

top God's charts
and know a greatness

not found here,
we'll all be stars

in heaven,
doing readings

saints will cheer.

Sometimes higher

powers speak
into poetic ears,
poets are like God's

pebbles tossed
in the waters

of earth's tears,
ever rippling in

eternal rings
some can bring

folks calm and soothe,
creating love,

ease suffering
and brighten

worried moods.

I don't expect

to ever sink
my hand print

in concrete,
somewhere on

Hollywood Boulevard,
for the poems

that I'll complete,
or win a laureate

for words...
my rhyming or style,
But I'm quite content

for each poem lent,
if if makes one person smile.

For each piece

of our heart
we give away

to those around us
in the heavens far above,
angels record

what will astound us,
our souls will

top God's charts
and know a greatness

not found here,
we'll all be stars

in heaven,
doing readings

saints will cheer.

This is my poem

to poem writers,
it's meant for everyone.
who ever struggled

with some lines
until a poem was done,
who ever poured

their heart out,
hoping to move

souls as one,
you'll get that

chance in heaven
when your work

on earth is done.

So I'll meet you

in that grand cafe,
that sit's just

behind God's throne,
when it's time

for us to lay down
all that's flesh soon

turned to bone,
we'll write together,

and perhaps
we'll all collaborate,
On poems that

make the angels smile,
works God will

call first rate.

Thinking about us all being together

      Around God's holy throne

      Brings happiness

      More than we've ever known

As we sit and ponder the struggle

      We sometimes had to rhyme

      God will smile,telling us

      He might have helped us

      Once upon a time

The angels in all their glory

      Will remember as we recall

The many nights we wrote words

As we listened to the distant rainfall

Sometimes we wrote words of happiness

Sometimes words of grief and sorrow

      Always thinking of words

That would make a better tomorrow.

God Bless you my wonderful poet friend

Hopefully the angels have copies of lost poetic thoughts and the accidentally deleted works too!
