Movies for children under five years old

Updated on July 20, 2012

Movies for Kids

Movies play an important role to children too. It helps them develop a better vision, a creative imagination, and formulate a lot of WHY's. You as a parent may be surprised later of the series of questions, but you will also be delighted to know that your child was able to ask such question.

For me as a parent, movies for kids are really part of the learning tools in our home. Aside from giving them books to read, toys to play, playing kiddie songs for them to listen to during playtime, movies are being offered to them too.

What to remember when choosing movies? For me I always choose the one that is really educational, with good animation, came from quality producers of children movies, and with good music.

My favorites includes the movies of Sesame Street, Dora the Explorer, Little Mermaid and almost all of the Walt Disney Cartoon Movies. There are so many movies now being made. You have the freedom to choose from a lot of what is being offered. What is important is the time you spend with your kids while giving them various activities to enjoy...

Have time to watch movie with them...and you'll get a hug in the end.

More power to us all. God Bless!

I have a two year-old daughter and her favorite movies, although she rarley will sit through an entire movie at her age are the follwing:

      1) Curious George (the one with Will Ferrell) - This is a great movie with something always happening and will be enjoyed by both you and your children.

      2) Finding Nemo - She loves animals and fish, so abviously she likes this movie.

      3) Cars - My daughter is a music fan and she likes to sing along with the movie especially Rascal Flatts -Life is a highway.

      4) Cartoons etc - She also watches Blues Clues which helpos with counting and letts etc and also 1/2 hour cartoons such as Curious George, Micky Mouse Clubhouse, Arthur and Clifford the Big red Dog.

Let's welcome, then, our kids and our kid's friends to the world of ARIEL... I love the movie as well...Until now, I watched it together with the kids.

By the way, my first suggested movie should have been DO THE ALPHABET... I forgot to type the "DO"... I already memorized the songs featured in there.

Thanks Patti...Have a nice day ahead.

That's true about the Little Mermaid. My friend's child watched it every day for 2 years, from ages 3-4!
