Downtime- What I Do Offline to Recharge

Updated on October 25, 2011

Are you stressed?

Everyone gets to that point where it feels like your life is falling threw the cracks. You seem as if every turn you make leads to more and more stress. Sometimes you can actually push yourself into depression. So it is a VERY good idea to have downtime. Yes, downtime is something that everyone needs to keep functioning normally every single day.

In this Hub I am going to give you some simple techniques to use if you are over your head and need to just relax.

Watch A Movie

Movies are a fantastic way to clear your mind. If you are planning a whole day of relaxation have a marathon night! Buy some snacks and zombie out watching movies! As a side note, don't watch movies that you compare to your day to day life. This is your time to escape a little bit.

Take A Bath

This is one of my favorite things to do when I have downtime. You know the daily routine where you wake up, scramble out of bed, hit the shower for five minutes, and run out the door. Well now slow it down a notch. Run you a hot bath. Add some bubbles to the water for that soft scent on your skin you absolutely love. Another idea that you can do is light some candles and hit the light switch. Just soak and relax!

Escape you mind by reading something. If you love books just lay around and read one from your favorite Author and loose track of time. If you are someone who dosn't really like long books don't worry grab one of your favorite magazines and read away.

Go For A Drive

When was the last time you just drove around to drive around? No kids screaming at you. No time lines to get somewhere. Most likely a while. So just take a drive. Almost every area has some kind of scenic route you could go and enjoy. Turn the music up and relive some of those teenage years!

Rock Out

Listen to some of your favorite music. You don't have to rock out, you can listen to something soothing if that is what you like. Music can inspire you to break out a dance move that hasn't been seen since prom. Or it can mellow you out and help you escape your day to day worries. Music helps you mentally escape your life.

I am trying not to spend as much time online anymore, trying to get back into active things again. Great hub!

Great tips on what to do when offline. Most of us are spending so many hours online that we sometimes forget how to relax when we get off the computer, apart from eating and sleeping.
