When Summer Returns to Genoa City Everything Will Hit the Fan

Fans of The Young and the Restless may have noticed that Summer Newman has been missing for several weeks. The storyline has her in Atlanta but in real-time according to Daily Soap Dish, Hunter King is taking care of personal issues and wrapping up other projects. During the time she has been away, spoiler alerts have been stating that she and Kyle will spend more time together both in and out of the office. While Summer was gone, Theo found out that Dina is his grandmother. Previews for this week have Ashley offering her nephew a position in Paris, but whether he accepts has yet to be determined.

Kyle is angry at his new cousin, while Abby and Lola have been warming up to him. Both Theo and his former party buddy called Summer last week emphasizing that she is needed back in Genoa City. When she returns there will be a lot that she must deal with. Daily Soap Dish teases that there will be a couples swap, but if Theo accepts Ashley's offer this will not happen. Lola is in Theo's corner and he is clearly smitten with her, but a real relationship is probably not going to happen. Summer and Kyle have unresolved feelings so there is no telling where this will go. Ms. Newman and Lola will have their hands full trying to be sympathetic to both men they care about.

Soap Dirt suggests that Phyllis may find Theo interesting again now that he is related to the Abbott's. On Monday's episode of The Young and the Restless, Ms. Summers seemed she might be interested in Chance Chancellor. Considering that Mr. Vanderway is attempting to change his ways, it's not likely that he would get involved with Summer's mother at this point. Only time will tell if Theo stays in Genoa City, or goes to Paris with Ashley. If he leaves town he will be saying goodbye to Summer, Phyllis, and Lola, leaving them behind.

If Theo does not accept his aunt Ashley's offer, to work for Jabot in Paris he will need to find gainful employment as right now he has none. It's not likely that he will ask Jack for help, plus Billy and Kyle will not want him to work for Jabot. If Theo leaves Genoa City, this will make it easier for Summer to get her clutches into Kyle again. Of all the rumors that are going around, the one most likely to come to pass is a "Skyle" reunion. Whether he ends up with Summer, Lola, or Phyllis, remains in Genoa City or goes to Paris there will be some type of closure for Theo Vanderway.

The rumor mill suggests that former CBS Executive Producer for Daytime, Angelica McDaniel. was not a "Skyle" fan and this might explain why Kyle did not honor his agreement to remain married to Summer for a year. The entire scenario around their marriage did not make sense to many Young and Restless viewers and neither did his about-face, dropping Summer and marrying Lola. Now that Angelica McDaniel is no longer in charge there seems to be a shift in the CBS daytime drama. This is why spoilers continue to report a reunion is in the works.

Billy and Kyle were getting along last week, which will make the office setting easier for Summer to work in when she returns. She will basically be third in command at Jabot which should keep her pretty busy. She and Kyle have proven they work well together so Billy will more than likely encourage their teamwork. The changes at Jabot, Theo dealing with being part of the Abbot clan, Kyle whining about his new relation, and Phyllis involved in a hostage situation at The Grand Phoenix will have Summer's head spinning. Whatever direction The Young and the Restless takes her, Hunter King's fans will be glad that her character is back in Genoa City. Once she returns, things can get moving and a lot of issues with hit the fan.
