The official trailer for The Amazing Spiderman 2012

Spider-man, our friendly neighborhood hero is about to be rebooted.

We all know and love the story of this beloved Web Slinger. We have read the comics seen the cartoons and taken in the movies. Now it has been decided that a new face is needed and Peter Parker is about to be remixed from Tobey Maguire to Andrew Garfield.

So the question is - Who makes a better Spider-man? Maguire has already proven himself as Spider-man. As a matter of fact, I find it hard to wrap my mind around the fact that when I actually do go to see this new movie, it will not be Tobey's baby blues looking at me through the screen but rather Andrew's gentle? or perhaps intense? brown eyes. Forgive my hesitation in using an adjective to describe them. It is because I am not familiar with his work. But come to think of it, his eyes should be gentle in this flick because Peter Parker is a shy and gentle lad is he not? So I will go with gentle for now.

I already know some Spidey fans have insisted that they will not see the flick. "It's not Spider-man without Tobey." They say emphatically. Others say they will watch it but will not like it. I am on the fence. There have been some re-makes that I have liked and who knows? This could be one of them.

If it is anything to go by, Andrew Garfield does seem to have his fair share of fans who are willing to profess, confess, and impress upon the rest of the world just how great their boy actually is.

All I can do is wait to see if they are right.

What do you think?

Who makes your Spidey senses tingle?

      Hi samir,

Thanks for reading and commenting. I have not seen the new movie as yet but I do not expect it to be better than the others, quite honestly.

jst seen the movie.....nt a good one for me although Andrew Garfield did good but he is like a child don't bother to wear his mask every one can see spidermans face so easily and some other childish acts and not good 3D.

jst think TobeyMaguire was fantastic and yes he is the original spiderman just calm cool and mature and perfect..

will not waste time in the next spiderman movie if Tobey

      Maguire was not there.....

I wondered why they started it over myself, Sheepsquatch. People do think that the new movie will be good but I do find that when the majority likes a movie, I generally do not.

I enjoy Spiderman so I will watch the new one and probably like it, but it sucks that they are starting over so soon after the previous ones.

I completely agree. They will have to re-vamp the whole thing to impress me..

I don't understand the reasoning behind re-making Spiderman. It's not as if it were made in the 80's, it's still relatively modern with great SFX. The "new" Spiderman will have to be different for it to be worth re-making it!
