Whiskey Sky

Updated on May 4, 2011

Whiskey Sky

by Chuck RitenouR

verse 1:

He was sittin' alone at the table whiskey bottle in his hand.

He was thinking about his life, how it never goes like he plans.

As he lifts the bottle to his lips, he shakes his head and sighs .

and whispers, "everything goes to hell beneath the whiskey sky."

verse 2:

Seems like only yesterday, but time moves so fast.

for a man who's always on the run runnin' from his past.

all he wanted was to settle down and watch the years roll by

yeah everything goes to hell beneath the whiskey sky.

Bridge:

He wonders if they're closin' in while he just sits and waits

he raises the bottle to his lips and takes another taste.

if there's a fight comin', some fools are gonna die

cause everything goes to hell beneath the whiskey sky.

Verse 3:

He leaves the bottle on the table and he steps into the street

He knows Death is a mean card player no man can ever cheat.

there's a hangman's rope waitin' if they ever take him alive.

cause everything goes to hell beneath the whiskey sky.

      RealHousewife,

Thanks for dropping by. I think the recipe is 3 parts misery to 1 part gin.
