The 411 on Ariana Grande

It seems like Ariana Grande has blown onto the scene out of nowhere but the truth is that she has been slowly making her way into the mainstream. Born Ariana Grande-Butera on June 26th, 1993 in Boca Raton, Florida. Ariana got her big break when she was cast alongside Victoria Justice to star on the Nickelodeon television series “Victoriuos”. Ariana’s character, Cat Valentine, stood out from the rest of the cast enough that she soon had her own spinoff show “Sam and Cat.” Now that her show “Victorious” is no longer airing, she has been able to place more of her focus on her singing career and recently made it big with the release of her album “Yours Truly.” Ariana first single, “The Way,” off of her debut album “Yours Truly” was an instant hit, and sold over 120,000 units in less than two days. “The Way” debuted at number ten on the hot one hundred charts and the rest is history. Ariana went on to win Best New Artist at the American Music Awards and has already completed her second album. The first single from her second album is already taking over the airwaves and has sold over 438,000 download making her the youngest woman ever to debut with more than 400,000 downloads. Her new single “Problems” features another up and coming woman Iggy Azalea.

Grande is known for her amazing voice which is said to have a four octave soprano range. Some have even begun to call her the next Mariah Carey but one thing is for sure, she is an up and comer who the public needs to keep their eyes on.
