Alright and here we go with round two of who is the sexiest comic book female character in the movies! It seems we have another Marvel vs. DC challenge going on here.

From my last poll, it seems that Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow came out on top among a wide array of other sexy candidates. You can check out my first poll at the link - List of The Sexiest Comic Book Female Characters In Movies! Who's The Sexiest?

Not surprising since the Avengers was one of the most hyped up and most anticipated movies of this year. However, The Dark Knight Rises had yet to be released and Anne Hathaway as Catwoman wasn't in the poll. Also, DC and Warner hadn't even released a glimpse of Anne Hathaway in the Catwoman costume.

Now we've had a look at Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, I think it's appropriate we give her a chance to see how she stacks up against one of most popular marvel female superheroes.

Okay, this isn't about what movie was better - The Dark Knight Rises or The Avengers. This is about who's the sexiest comic book female character in the movies - Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow or Anne Hathaway's Catwoman!

Of course, they're both sexy, but only one can be the sexiest!

Scarlett Johansson as The Black Widow In The Avengers

Even though the mega blockbuster hit The Avengers ranked the 3rd highest grossing movie of all time, right behind Titanic, it was pretty clear that Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow held up beautifully with a male dominated cast. And she kicked much butt as well.

Yes, she looked ultra stunning in the Black Widow suit, which accentuated her already wonderful curves, but her tough bravado was ultra sexy. She had plenty of scenes kicking butt in The Avengers, and that's how us comic fans like our Black Widow.

Portraying one of the most beloved of Marvel female superheroes is no easy feat, but I do have to admit that she didn't have any burden of living up to a previous actress playing the part like Anne Hathaway had to with Catwoman.

Nope, Scarlett Johansson has set the standard for The Black Widow on screen, and it's a tough act to beat for any actress to take on the role in the future.

After all, she did beat out the likes of January Jones as Emma Frost, a gorgeous Halle Berry as Storm, and Malin Akerman As Silk Spectre II in my previous poll of the List of The Sexiest Comic Book Female Characters In Movies! Who's The Sexiest?

That itself is no easy feat to beat as well, for all the ladies in that list are gorgeous and sexy, but is her Black Widow on screen sexier than Anne Hathaway's Catwoman?

Anne Hathaway Catwoman In The Dark Knight Rises

I have to admit that I first had my doubts about Anne Hathaway as Catwoman once it was announced she will be playing the role of one my all time favorite female comic book characters. I was actually concerned about two things:

1. Would Christopher Nolan actually get Catwoman right on screen?

2. Was Anne Hathaway really sexy enough to pull off one of the sexiest DC female superheroes of all time?

For the first question: Yes, Christopher Nolan did get the character right in the Dark Knight Rises, and is the closest to Catwoman's comic book essence portrayed in film. In the comics, Catwoman is just an extraordinary jewel thief.

Yes, she knows how to throw down, and her powers of seduction and cunning often bewilders the Caped Crusader. However, she isn't some psycho killer like portrayed in the 1989 Batman sequel by Michelle Pfeiffer.

As for question two: Catwoman in the comic is a keen seductress and amazingly sultry. Although, I thought Anne Hathaway was pretty and cute - like in the girl next door cute and pretty - I never really thought of her as unbelievably sexy and sultry like the character of Catwoman needs to be.

Did she pull off Catwoman? Yes, I give Anne Hathaway much kudos, and she was absolutely a believable Catwoman. She did bring sexy and sultry and intelligence to the role which was refreshing.

What do you think? Who is the sexiest - Scarlett as Black Widow or Hathaway as Catwoman? Place your vote and let's see!

Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn

Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn

Hell, let's add a third to this poll why don't we? Margot Robbie is Hollywood's new "it girl", and Harley Quinn is DC Comics "it girl". So, with the popularity of the character, it is no wonder that Harley Quinn would make her on-screen debut sometime, and the crazy girlfriend of the Joker finally did last year in David Ayer's Suicide Squad flick.

The character of Harley Quinn first appeared in the Batman: The Animated Series in September 1992 and was created by Bruce Tim and Paul Dini. She immediately became a fan-favorite in the animated series.

Her first comic book debut was in Batman Adventures #12, a comic book series based on the animated cartoon series. This series was not part of DC Comic's mainstream continuity or canon. Her 1st appearance in DC's mainstream comic book continuity was in Batman: Harley Quinn #1.

Just like the cartoon, comics and the Suicide Squad movie, Harleen Frances Quinzel, M.D. was a psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum who falls in love with the Joker and becomes his sidekick and accomplice.

So how does Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn stack up against Scarlett's Black Widow and Anne Hathaway's Catwoman? Is the the sexist female character based on comics? Don't be shy put in your vote below, puddin'.

Anne just really doesn't do it for me all that much. No curves.

Great idea! I would love to see these two comic characters have their own movies, but I'd still have to go with Scarlett Johansson and the Black Widow when it comes to this poll, but thanks for commenting. Always appreciated!

Heya Cogerson, I know what you mean. Anne Hathaway surprised me also, and she was the best part of the Dark Knight Rises. I didn't much care for Bane at all.

I think my earlier reaction to Anne Hathaway has a lot to do with how impressed I was in seeing her in the Dark Knight Rises as well, which is why I voted for Scarlett. I will have to watch the Dark Knight Rises again when it comes out on DVD to confirm if that was a fluke or not...at least for me. I don't think TDKR is really good enough to watch twice in the theaters.

Heya gmaoli, very good points about Anne Hathaway and her role as Catwoman...I highly recommend watching The Avengers...it's a great film for any superhero fan and accented with just the right amount of humor...Oh yes, and the Hulk is superb this time around.

I can not believe my answer.....but I voted for Anne Hathaway over Scarlett....I think Scarlett is one of the prettiest actresses around...but Anne Hathaway blew me away in The Dark Knight Rises. I remember when I heard about her being cast as Catwoman.....I was like..."No! she is going to be horrible"....but then I saw the movie and thought she was the best part of the movie and ended up wishing her part was bigger. And I think her being so sexy in the role had a lot to do with my reaction....voted up and awesome.

Well done article! I do need to see the Avengers, so take my comment with a grain of salt. That being said, I really have to struggle to find a female comic character as sexy on the silverscreen as Anne Hathway's Catwoman. Her figure looked great and her costume was slick. However, my number one reason for this is that Anne's portrayal of Catwoman was being able to switch from a coy damsel (when the case called for it) to an enigma who's motives were hard to discern unless she let you get close to her...and even then she was always in control even with Bruce Wayne. The mystery about her was always just so attractive to me!
