Who Sings The Song How Do I Get You Alone

Updated on February 25, 2011

Who Sings How Do I Get You Alone?

I was listening to my XM radio (heavens how did I exist without satellite radio?) when the song Alone (often referred to as How Do I Get You Alone) by Heart came on and I was moved to tears, literally.I stopped dusting and sat down and got lost in the wonderful world of daydreaming.

For some reason this song stuck a nerve, maybe its because Ann Wilson's voice is so raw with emotion you feel so connected with her with every note she hits.Maybe its because Heart simply rocks and listening to them sing brought back some really good memories and maybe its because this is the kind of feel good song that makes you want to grab a hairbrush, stand in front of the mirror and sing along while tossing your hair in true rockstar style.

If you're a 70s or 80s baby you have definitely heard this song before and if you've never heard it,well today is your lucky day because I have not just the lyrics to Alone (aka How Do I get You Alone) but the accompanying video too plus some yummy pictures of the Heart band members: Ann and Nancy Wilson.

How come no one makes such good music these days?

How Do I Get You Alone Lyrics

I hear the ticking of the clock
Im lying here the rooms pitch dark
I wonder where you are tonight
No answer on the telephone
And the night goes by so very slow
Oh I hope that it wont end though
Alone

Till now I always got by on my own
I never really cared until I met you
And now it chills me to the bone
How do I get you alone
How do I get you alone

You don't know how long I have wanted
To touch your lips and hold you tight
You don't know how long I have waited
And I was going to tell you tonight
But the secret is still my own
And my love for you is still unknown
Alone

Till now I always got by on my own
I never really cared until I met you
And now it chills me to the bone
How do I get you alone
How do I get you alone
How do I get you alone
How do I get you alone
Alone, alone

That would be Heart from their Bad Animals album. The song is titled "Alone", not "How Do I Get You Alone", but I like your title better.

      Heart is an awesome group.

This is a great song. I love the piano, the voice and the fantastic guitar solo.
