Why 4th Impact (4th Power) Wins X Factor UK 2015: Top 10 Ultimate Reasons
Now a worldwide sensation and one The X Factor UK 2015’s Top 12, the Manila, Philippines-based 4th Impact is now sitting atop the pile filled with amazing talent. Formerly known as 4th Power, they had their name changed due to copyright reasons and soon became fan favorites not just in the UK and Philippines but all over the world.
Made up of sisters Mylene (23), Irene (25), Almira (27), and Celina Gollayan (19), the Filipino foursome proved that X Factor UK allowing international talents to participate was indeed a stellar idea.
During their audition, the awesome judges Simon Cowell, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Nick Grimshaw and Rita Ora were blown away by their performance saying:
Cheryl: “Girls, you just absolutely took Wembley’s roof off. You know what’s funny? You came on, you’re so demure, the music kicks in and you all turn into 4 little bad girls up there and it blew me main.”
Rita: “It’s like your monsters, but like minute monsters. The passion, the voices, and the attitude, and I was just like, I wanna be their sister.”
Nick: “Wembley, what just happened? This is gonna blow up all around the world.”
Rita: This audition has just changed your lives.
Simon: We get people say, it’s the British X Factor. You know, should it just be opened to British people. And, I’ve always said, we welcome talent from all over the world. And, you can incredibly welcome. In terms of first auditions, this is probably one of the best I’ve ever seen.
And with their performance, the four judges gave them a sure, YES, with Simon saying that the girls have the biggest 4 yes that they have ever given in X Factor UK. Amazing, right?
So why 4th Impact is the winner of X Factor UK 2015?
Well, I can cite you 10 ultimate reasons.
# 1 They are “Sisters”.
It may seem obvious enough, but it also means their sisterly bond makes their group cohesion much stronger compared to other groups who are composed of people who are not directly related to each other by blood. It is rare to find a girl group that is made up of siblings who all have amazing voices. Yes, we’ve had sibling music bands before like The Moffats, The Carpenters, The Corrs, The Bee Gees, and The Jackson 5, just to name a few, but 4th Impact is the best of all, having 4 great voices, all girls, combined altogether.
# 2 They have been performing together since 2001.
Having performed together for 14 years means that they've had all the time to be the best that they can be. I’d say, they have mastered their harmony. The girls have actually performed under different names like MICA, The Cercado Sisters (Cercado is their surname), and The Gollayan Sisters (to pay respect and tribute to their musically gifted grandfather), which means they've undergone much change and tribulation as a group.
# 3 Their style is both fierce and harmonious.
As a group, they combine 'fierce' stage presence with a harmony that both comes naturally as sisters and perfected through tons of practice and years of experience in the music industry, mainly honed by their joining of many various local and international singing competitions. It's hardly new, but it has been bringing people off their seats and made them one of the top contenders. 4th Impact has joined the following competitions: World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA), Talentadong Pinoy (TV 5’s), Protégé (GMA), Showtime (ABS-CBN), and Superstar K6.
World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA)
# 4 They already have huge fan following on YouTube.
They started their channel back in 2012 and garnered over 35,000 subscribers over time. Fans tune in to watch them perform songs like Alicia Keys' Girls on Fire, Katy Perry's Roar, and even the song they performed for their X Factor audition.
# 5 They impressed right from week one of the audition.
With their mother (Erlinda Gollayan Cercado) looking on, they came in with their rendition of Jessie J's "Bang Bang," which had the judges very impressed and the audience erupting with applause. On the Internet, people had been touting them as one of the best groups to ever audition on X Factor.
# 6 Their audition is the second most watched on YouTube.
The reaction to their performance has been overwhelmingly positive. With over 24 million views as of this writing, behind only Josh Daniel's audition by 2 million, 4th Impact has become an online viral hit virtually overnight.
# 7 They were the first group chosen for the live shows.
While their first audition was impressive enough, their subsequent performance really showed their true potential. When it was time to choose who goes to the Live Shows, judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini named 4th Impact first, showing just how well they've done in the Judges' Houses. At Judges Houses, they sang the balad version of Rihanna’s hit, Love the Way You Lie, which also wowed guest judge Jess Glynne.
Jess: Oh, Oh my God.
Cheryl: Wow! I was choked. I got goosebumps. I feel weird.
# 8 They are the group Cheryl is counting on to win.
As the mentor for the groups, Cheryl has stated that she "absolutely one hundred percent believe a group can win the X Factor this year." Her bet is on 4th Impact, confident in them ultimately getting the cash prize and record deal.
# 9 They have joined to raise funds for their father’s surgery.
Their real mission is to help their ailing 59-year-old father (Dominador Cercado), who had been diagnosed with a brain tumor. Surgery is need to prevent complications such as permanent blindness, but it costs a hefty sum of £10,000. If there is any greater motivation to win X Factor than this, it's nowhere else to be seen here.
# 10 The people are behind them.
They have become the fan favorites of X Factor UK 2015 not only for their top notch performances, but also for their touching and inspiring journey as musical artists and their bond as sisters. The British public and the people all over the world are ready to support them.
In one of their interviews by This Morning on itv, when asked about the controversy that they are already professional singers and should not have been allowed to join X Factor, Almira said:
“We are here because we are chasing our dreams. We’ve been singing since we were little and, you know, because we come from a humble beginning, this is our way of like helping our parents and to like, you know, better our lives and finish studies so that’s why every time we practice at home, and we make our best to, you know, show to people.”
