Why we Ignore our Gut Feeling

Updated on May 6, 2015

Why we Ignore our Gut Feeling

There have been so many times in my life where I've ignored my gut feeling, but the times when I trusted myself in certain situations, were the times I knew that was what I was called to do in the beginning.

1. There are times we feel that our "gut feeling" might be wrong

Depending on the situation, normally a huge majority of the time, our gut feeling never leads us the wrong direction. If every inch of your body keeps driving you that direction, we know that is a sign!

2. What are the signs and how do we know?

If you feel that it's all you can think about, your stomach drops when you think of another alternative, all you see and hear is what's on your heart, there is a positive in this situation, it is doing more good than harm, it's uplifting others in the best way possible, and its bringing you closer to your dreams, your gut feeling has spoken.

3. How do we stick to our gut feeling?

Investing in things that you love to do! Redirecting your focus to all the positive and good, will help re-assure that you're in the right direction. Also, focus on you dreams and aspirations and you will already be there.

Stay positive, love life, follow your dream, and be happy.

Hi Mercedes Thrilled to see you on Hub Pages! I certainly understand what you share in this excellent hub...I LOVE that this hub IS simple and to the point. I am VERY behind in my hubs because I am so very busy.

I refer to my gut feelings as 'intuition', and it is NEVER wrong. Every time I have not followed my gut feeling I am wrong and, in many instances, things go thank you for this excellent advice which can apply to all people. Blessings, Sparklea

Couldn't agree more. Sometimes we just get so caught up in what society tells us to do, family, friends even, and there is so much that is expected from us. I think we took a step back and really listened to our heart and gut feeling about what we should do in certain situations, we would be happier. :)

I think that we ignore our gut feelings sometimes due to the overthinking of our brains, our feelings, or other situations that may occur. thanks for the hub.

Thank you so much. I've been trying to write more hubs, but I've just been so busy. My goal would hopefully be to start getting paid for my work online. Because I've been very aware that our society has such a short attention spans, I try to keep my hubs simple and to the point. :)

There have been so many times, I have ignored that gut feeling, in the pit of my stomach, and of course, I have always came to regret it later. Great hub, voted up, shared, and more.
