Being A Hardcore Twitter Has Its Use
So, there's this thing called TUNEtastic Race by Tune Insurance. I think it started a few days after Chinese New Year. I was bored and sad during that one week holiday. Why sad on such auspicious day? Because I was no longer in Brisbane with my one true love. Still had puffy eyes then. Anyway, so I joined the contest.
This contest, the TUNEtastic Race requires you to tweet, tweet and tweet. REMEMBER the #HASHTAG! You need to have a valid PNR/Booking No. WITH the Tune Insurance bought. It doesn't matter if you bought your ticket for future flights or a past flight. What matters most is that the (Tune) insurance is purchased too.
GAME ON MODE
I love games. I play lots of games especially browser-based games. Not something Facebook related though. High Descent and Utopia are the few games that I'd play. So, to me, tweeting isn't that difficult. When I was directed to the TUNEtastic Race game, the team I was assigned to was team Tune Fly. Well, I wasn't in despair when I saw TeamTuneFly was the SLOWEST and last team among the others. The one in lead was TeamTuneTravel, followed by TeamTuneHoliday. So, out of boredom, I started tweeting nonsense; spamming till my friend, Ado, deserted me. Ha ha.
There's a rest period in between those spammings. So, during that time, I'd rest my hands. So, your question to me may be, "How many tweets can I spam before I go over the limit?" Well, can I say, "Try it?" Wahahhahaah. Three to four days passed and I realised that Tune Fly's twitter counter had overtook the other teams. And I was determined to keep my team way ahead of the other two teams. I mean, hey, if you really want to win a contest, you need to do your best to make yourself (in this case, my team, Tune Fly) look super good, super better than the other teams, right? I didn't want to see the difference by a few hundreds of tweets cos it makes me feel like the gap is still close and the other teams will still have that gleam, light of hope in them. So, I had an aim. That is to hit 15k tweets.
It was crazaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! I even stayed up at night past 1 am just to end the tweets for the day (or night) before I went to bed. And the first thing I do in the morning when I wake up - TWEEEeeeT!
The end of the TUNEtastic Race was on the 15th March. But two days before the 15th, I slept the whole day cos I was over exhausted. It actually felt good, FOR ONCE that I had a good sleep during the TUNEtastic campaign period. Ha ha.
Oh, and I got my dad to join as well. He just did as I told him but just to fill in the blanks when I'm not tweeting. Telling him that this is TEAM SPIRIT! He called me crazy.
But eventually, when winners were announced, guess what? I won! Daddy won too! And I was like OMG? Daddy won too?! And I was about 3-4k more to hit 15k tweets. Well, at least we won. :D
So, yea. We won. I was jumping and screaming in the office, telling my colleagues that I won and will be watching the F1 Race. Made a commotion in the office (Borneo Real Estate) because I was too excited aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand I didn't know there was a client in the office. Ha ha.
So this is what the TUNEtastic Race is. Twitter it, people! There will be a TUNEtastic Race 2. It should be starting today, yes, on an April Fool's day.
I may give it another shot. So, do you think you can beat me? I'm AnnabellaDwayne on Twitter and Facebook.
