X-men first class - It's really gonna happen?

Updated on May 7, 2010

Well, seems like Fox studios insists in continues with ths movies from X-men franchise, I really like x-men 1 and 2, but the third one and the Wolverine's spin-off are really weak movies, and I think I'm not the only one that think it, Fox decided to bring back Bryan Singer (director from the 2 first movies) to direct the pre-quel from it, named X-men first Class.

For those don't know, X-men first class is a comic series that re-tells the first formation of the x-men : Cyclops, Jean Grey, Angel, Beast and Iceman; Written by Jeff Parker and Pencilled by Roger Cruz ( that I always was a great fan but with this series won all my respect and admiration), The series was a great success and you know, where hollywood see success, it see a chance to earn money.

The idea of making a movie in the beggining of the x-men is good, but I think that they should had to made it in the first movie, but they didn't 'cause it would leave Wolverine (the most popular and guarantee of money) out. They decide to make it now, Bryan Singer would direct, but he had to left and just be a producer, the substitute that fox wanted was Matthew Vaughn ( Kick-ass) and seems that him refused ( surelly a good decision!), Fox still searching for a director, some names are: Louis Terrier (incredible Hulk, Clash of Titans) and David Slade ( 30 days of night).

I don't want to prophecy that It would be a bad movie but hollywood isn't good to tell the origins of heroes from comics , seems like impossible to tell a story that already exists they have to change things that themselves changes again later, specially in the Marvel comics movies where the sequels are better than the first movie ( X-men, Spiderman, The Punisher).

First we'll have to wait if this movie really will happens, and then know if will be good or not,

Update!!!

Matthew Vaughn turn back and accepted direct the movie, the screenplay has being rewritten by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz, who worked in series as Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles and Fringe, and recently in the screenplay for Thor movie.

Fairly interesting opinions on the film. I take it from your reactions to the news of "X-Men First Class" that you have no intention of seeing the movie, right? Well it's your choice, but it's a pretty good movie for what it is. I think if you go into any comic book adaptation, and expect everything to be a 100 percent accurate, then you'll end up disappointed majority of the time.

However, if you're like me, and you just accept the idea that the comic book world and movie universes for these characters are two different perspective continuities, then you might get a lot more enjoyment out of the films. Just food for thought. Anyways, keep up the good work.

I Thought they putted much characters that aren't part of the Wolverine's origin, I agree that Liev Schriber wasn't a good choice for sabertooth.
