Yuria Kizaki With Former AKB48 & NGT48 Member Rie Kitahara

Who Is Yuria Kizaki?

Yuria Kizaki is a pop music singer, idol, and former member of the girl group AKB48. She is a Japanese idol meaning that she has had to attend regular theatrical performances, attend handshake events, and greet the fans, and dedicate herself to being a part of a team. She was originally a member of the training girls and she was eventually transferred to the group SKE48’s Team S in June 2010. Kizaki was in the same idol group as Mina Oba and Rena Matsui. She would stay with SKE48 until February 2014 until the AKB48 Group Shuffle took place. After this event, Kizaki was fully transferred to AKB48’s Team 4 where she became that team’s sub-captain. However, she was then the captain of AKB48’s Team B.

Kizaki Was Also a Member of the Girl Group SKE48

Kizaki passed the 3rd generation auditions for SKE48 on November 13, 2009. Her first single with AKB48 was the song Beginner. She has sang on the A-side and B-side singles for many of the songs.

Yuria Kizaki Has Also Been an Actress

In addition to her singing work, Yuria has been involved in several dramas. Otoha is also another Japanese supermodel that has done television drams. Her (Kizaki’s) drama debut was in 2010 when she starred in Strike Love. In 2011, she starred in Mousou Deka followed by Asu no Hikari wo Tsukame 2. It would be in 2012 that she would star in the third installment of the drama series Majisuka Gakuen 3-Peace. This is a drama series starring other AKB48 members. Gyarubasara Gaiden would be the other drama she would star in that year. 2014 saw Yuria star in GTO. She would star in Majisuka Gakuen 4 and 5 in 2015. I think we can say that Yuria’s dream of being a movie actress has been realized!

Yuria Kizaki's Performance in the Group's General Elections & Graduation

Kizaki was ranked at #31 in AKB48’s 4th General Election in 2012. The next year, she would rank at #22 followed by #23 in 2014 and #22 in 2015. Yuria has released a photo book called Peace in 2015. She has followed in the footsteps of many other Japanese idols that have done this. Kizaki graduated from AKB48 in September 2017.

Yuria Kizaki Expresses Her Intention to Study Abroad

Kizaki had expressed the desire of studying abroad. At a press conference back on February 11, 2015 which was also the singer’s 19th birthday, she released her photo book called Peace and also declared during the conference that she would graduate and move on from her “obaka” character or uneducated and stupid character. She compared herself to then AKB48 member Rina Kawaei and said that she is smarter than her. Reporters asked her whether she could say something in English and Kizaki replied by saying former President Barack Obama’s slogan of “we can!” It takes much confidence and courage to say something like this and to believe it in a day and age when the United States and some parts of the world are so divided politically. So there you have a look at the life and career of Yuria Kizaki who is one of my favorite AKB48 girls not just because she was born in February like me but because she is so cute!
