Zara Larsson : Top 15 Things She Wants You To Know
Born Zara Maria Larsson 16th December 1997 in Stockholm Sweden.
She has a younger sister.
She can speak almost fluent American English with a slight Swedish accent.
She has a spectacular singing voice and sings similar to Beyoncé. On several occasions she has sang unaccompanied and it's completely enthralling and hypnotic. She is definitely going to be a very big star in the future.
"Talang Sverige" is the Swedens got talent reality show.
I thought that I was going to get record deals and everything after that sure, but nothing really happened. I just went back to school basically.
I've been singing like pretty much forever. All my life since I was born. When I became more serious about it was when I participated in "Talang" the Swedish version of "America's Got Talent". Then I was ten. Then I got my record deal at fourteen and ever since I have been working with them. I've been singing my whole life. I've always known I wanted to be a singer.
From National Star To International Superstar
A lot of people haven't actually heard a lot of my music. For a lot of people "Lush Life" and "Never Forgive You" are the first songs they've heard. I've done so much music back in Sweden and in Scandinavia. It feels like, finally, people can hear my sound more than just a single.
She had around seven hit singles in Sweden before "Lush Life". The biggest hit was "Uncover", which reached number one in her home country.
On Stage Beauty
I started wearing makeup in the 7th or 8th grade when I was 13 or 14. On stage beauty is definitely like my normal routine but times ten. My contours a bit sharper, lips a bit brighter. Everything is just like a little bit more.
Living With Her Parents
I want to move out like yesterday. It's pretty nice to live at home. I'm very spoilt. I don't even know how to put on a washing machine, but it's nice I like my family. We have a lot of fun, but at the same time I want to move. It's nice to have your own place and be responsible for your own stuff. To be a little bit more grown. I think my first apartment would be in Stockholm.
That Instagram Photograph
There's nothing to say really. I took a picture of my leg with a condom on it. I put the caption to all the guys saying "My **BEEP** is too big for a condom. Take a seat." It's literally up to my knee so I just thought that was funny and a lot of people did. It really became a big thing especially in America. I never thought that people would think it was that funny.
I'm definitely the biggest feminist ever. That's a pretty big thing in Sweden. I think it's super important. I want all of the famous girls and women to promote that.
I mostly listen to pop and R&B. I think it's Beyoncé. I wouldn't say our music is very similar. She's a really hard worker and she puts in everything to her music.
I met her back in 2013, 29th of May. It was after her Mrs Carter tour in Stockholm. It was really cool. I touched the stage. I just cried the whole time. I just cried and cried and cried. Then they took me and my sister backstage. I go into the room and I see Beyoncé and I lose it. I laid down on the floor. I'm laid down on the floor like a little Swedish meatball (laughs). And crying so hard and then I stand up.
(Adopts a crying voice) "Oh my God, I can't believe it!"
Beyoncé said, "Hi, nice to meet you. You're the girl on the front crying all the time."
It's a fun summer song. It's about living your day if it was your last. Not care about anything bad. If you meet someone and he or she is not good enough there's plenty of fish in the sea. It's a fun pop song and very fun to dance to.
Singing Songs About Heartbreak
I feel like I'm not the right person to ask about coming over a heartbreak, because, first of all I am eighteen and second I haven't been over anyone.
It's not only love that will make you happy. There's a lot of things that make me happy, like, for example music. It is therapeutic to write about things for me and to stay present in the moment. I think you just gotta surround yourself with awesome people, people who you love and do things that you love. I think that is happiness to me.
Bits And Pieces
I blush a lot.
I'm stubborn, sassy, energetic.
I'm so bad at waking up.
Favourite food : I love Asian food.
Favourite place : Los Angeles
Karaoke song: "No One" by Alicia Keys
First concert : Celine Dion.
I wish I could stop time. I feel like I'm always in a rush, I never get enough sleep. I never get enough of this or that. I don't have time for things that I wanna do.
That's literally half my life. If someone deleted my Instagram I would feel like a part of me was missing. I would feel pretty empty somehow, which is a little bit scary. I would say that, especially in the music industry, social media is such a big thing. So it has a great impact on my life. I love it. I use it all the time.
