Amelie the Movie - Gifts and Memoribilia

Updated on September 14, 2014

Looking for Amelie Inspired Gifts?

This page is dedicated to helping you find hard to find Amelie items. Some items you will only find on Amazon France or Amazon Germany. You'll also get some great ideas for creating your own unique photo booth gifts from scratch.

I've also included scans and more information on a great Amelie collector's book that has very detailed maps to help you tour Amelie filming spots in Paris as a tourist.

Amelie Filming Locations - Going to Paris? Want to Walk where Amelie Walked as a tourist?

Doubble Page Spread from Le Fabuleux Album d'Amélie Poulain
Doubble Page Spread from Le Fabuleux Album d'Amélie Poulain

The scan pictured above didn't come out perfect because it's a double page spread from Le Fabuleux Album d'Amélie Poulain... I love how it breaks down exactly where Amelie and Nino walked in the film! So I suggest you snag your own copy of Le Fabuleux Album d'Amélie Poulain before departing for Paris so that you too can enjoy all the Amelie tourist spots. You can also go to this tourist webpage to learn more about the sites in the Amelie film.

Inexpensive, Romantic Amelie Inspired Photo Booth Gifts

Give a Personalized Photo Booth Strip as a Gift

A fairly inexpensive gift (not to mention a great keepsake and fun one to create) would be your own photo booth photo set.

Step 1 - It's hard to find a good old fashioned photo booth these days (most of them are digital and print out on paper, instead of the old fashioned 4 strip photos). However, this link has a list of current photo booths on a Google map.

Step 2 - Get some props for some great photos (like the googely-eyed magnified nerd glasses, Zorro mask and cape Amelie used) and stuff them in a backpack or purse so that you can easily take them out inside the photo booth to take some photos.

Step 3 - Go and have fun!! Even if you're taking photos by yourself, you're doing it for someone you care about or love. If it's for a significant other - be sexy and flirty and but most of all always be creative!! The more creative you are, the better the photo strip will be!

Woodland Garden Gnome - Al with Wheelbarrow (Medium)
Woodland Garden Gnome - Al with Wheelbarrow (Medium)

This is the ACTUAL gnome that was used in the Amelie film. However, the gnome was modified (wheelbarrow removed, and pants painted red to match hat). Amazon rarely has it in stock but you can currently purchase from http://gardens.fjdavis.com/Detail_i55895

1000 Journals on Amazon

1000 Journals Project
1000 Journals Project

Several years ago I TRIED to participate in this project. It was a series of 1000 journals (all with intricate designed covers) that were sent out to a series of people all over the world. Each journal had a list of people (and their mailing address) that were supposed to get that journal in order of sign up. Unfortunately, all the journals I signed up for were lost before they reached me. It's facinating that only one journal made it back "home" to Someguy (out of 1000). This is a documentary about the project.

What's your favorite part of Amelie the film? - Do you own any of these Amelie collectables?

The end was great. Always gets me emotional and on the edge of shedding tears. This movie is so great that I don't mind saying that. Thanks for this lens.

@anonymous: It's also called Al with wheelbarrow gnome. Hard to find. It's listed at Amazon, but doesn't look like it is sold anymore.

I searched and searched for the exact gnome in Amelie and finally found it when I realized that he is supposed to hold a wheelbarrow, which is not present in the movie. Search for Rien Poortvliet gnome with wheelbarrow.
