Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion

Code Geass is one of the most popular anime in recent years. It has been loved by anime fans for its awesome fight sequences, captivating story, and the intense battle of wits by the characters. Because of its huge success, a sequel series is released on 2008 entitled, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2.

On August 10, 2010, the Holy Empire of Britannia sets its sights on conquering Japan, using their newest weapon, Knightmare Frames. Britannia seizes the freedom of Japan, and renames it Area 11.

Lelouch Lamperouge, an exiled Prince of Britannia, was sent to Japan by his father, Emperor Charles zi Britannia. He meets Suzaku Kururugi, and swears to him that he will destroy the Empire of Britannia. After seven years, a series of terrorist attacks leads him to a girl named C.C. She bestows Lelouch with the power of Geass, or the Power of the King.

Equipped with the ability to control others with a simple look in the eye, Lelouch decides to look for the murderer of his mother and seek revenge.

An ordinary day for Yagami Light ends with an extraordinary find: he stumbles upon a notebook with Death Note written on the cover. He reads the first few sentences, which states that whoever's name is written on the notebook will die.

Yagami ignores it at first, thinking that somebody just made the whole thing up. But his curiosity takes over him, and he finds himself not able to resist trying out the notebook. He then discovers that the death note is actually true.

With his desire to take over the world, Yagami makes use of the death note to create the world he longs for. But the famous detective, L, stands in his way.

The story revolves around Edward Elric and his brother, Alphonse. They are famous alchemists, people who are able to transform an object into another. In an alchemical accident, Edward attaches the soul of Alphonse to a large armor suit. This causes him to lose his limbs. The two then sets on a tedious path towards finding the Philosopher's Stone, which will give them the power to recover their bodies.

A Japanese tourist named Zwei goes on a trip to America, where crimes are commonplace and thugs looming in the streets. The brain behind these ill activities is a mysterious company known as Inferno, which uses a powerful weapon called Phantom.

Zwei witnesses firsthand the latest assassination by Phantom. The leader of Inferno and Phantom, which turns out to be a young lady named Ein, abducts him and erases his memory.

Black Lagoon is an action packed anime that will surely remind you of action sequences that you have only seen previously in Hollywood movies.

The story revolves around Okajima Rokuro, a Japanese salaryman who is sent by his bosses to Eastern China to deliver a disc. He is not aware that a group of mercenaries is in a mission to retrieve that disc.

After being kidnapped, his is given the name Rock and joins his captors which is a group called Black Lagoon. Little does he and his kidnappers know that the disc has a secret, which will lead them to a sequence of violent missions.

The series tells the story of Renton Thurston, a 14 year old boy, who has forever dreamed of riding Trapar and joining the rebel group Gekkostate. His wish finally comes true when Nirvash typeZERO and its pilots, Eureka, crash into his room.

A series of events leads him to finally joining Gekkostate, but he soon realizes that being a member of the group isn't even close of what he used to think. What keeps him interested in the group is the presence of Eureka, to whom he will share a lot of adventures that will have a tremendous impact on his life and to the whole world.

In the year A.D. 2307, the fossil fuels on Earth has been depleted, which leads people to turn to solar power as the main source of energy. Three orbital elevators are built, each one owned by the three most powerful regions: Union, Human Reform League, and AEU.

This causes unequal distribution of energy, which ultimately leads to the demise of minor countries. It is then that a special group, called Celestial Beings, is formed to eliminate poverty and put an end to the feuds of humanity through the use of machines called Gundams.

Mobile Suit Gundam 00 chronicles the story of four Gundam pilots, led by Setsuna F. Seiei, as they try to restore peace and order among society.

      Great list, there's some on here I haven't seen so Il be sure to check them out. I wasn't big on the whole Mecha aspect of Code Geass, so im glad there are other anime's on here not centered on that.
