I love this question! Two of them are Foggy Mountain Breakdown by Earl Scruggs and Walk the Line by Johnny Cash (which was the first 45 I ever owned). I had a great childhood in the NC mountains, and though there wasn't much money, we sure loved to sing and dance (and yes, stomp). My third song that brings back a powerful memory is from around the same time, Games People Play by The Spinners. Being a mountain kid, it just seemed so exotic and so sophisticated. I could just imagine him walking down the streets of New York amid all those tall buildings and sophisticated folks. Even now, when I hear that song, I just stop what I'm doing and hear it through. It still makes me smile and takes me right back to that time.
