What was the last intelligent comedy you watched? Meaning it's not based on sex and bathroom humor.

I thought "The Invention of Lying" was very clever.  Every day I enjoy Colbert Report and the Daily Show, sometimes the Daily show goes into childish behavior, but the satire on Colbert is amazing.  I love that Jon Stewart isn't above sticking it to the Dems/Libs (no they are not the same lol)  either when they are doing something stupid.

I know the Office has a lot of nasty jokes that are indecent, but that's not why I find the show funny. It is intelligent because it really strikes how people are sometimes and on top of that, the camera movements seem to capture everything in such a way that it just tickles me to death. I love the Office and in spite of it's raunchy humor at times I think it's brilliant.

I have been told numerous times that The Office is funny, I have never sat down to watch it though. I saw about 3 minutes of an episode involving a fake fire drill. What I saw made me laugh pretty hard.

Yeah, that was a funny episode, if you like studying people and ananlyzing them you will find the stuff in that show humorous that the rauchy people won't catch. Really it's a show to appease everyone and it works.

Notting Hill is excellent! The perfect rom-com. Julia Roberts has never been so genuine a person.

"The Intouchables" - simply a French masterpiece. One of the best movies I have seen. In beginning didn't seemed that it could be so good, but at the end I was simply happy that I watched this movie.

Either Big Daddy or Office Space, but I'm pretty sure those weren't the first comedies that I watched that were truly good movies without being very childish, but those are the two that I recall off the top of my head at the moment.

The Big Bang Theory is a cute sit-com, I believe created by the same guy that did two and a half men - the two shows are like night and day as far as sex and bathroom humor goes.

I would have to say "Home Improvement", with Tim Allen.  That show was always so funny.....the re-runs have been on T.V. a lot, and it is a well written intelligent comedy definitely!

I love Big Bang Theory. Before that....wow...have to go with Jeeves and Wooster, and that would be more than a decade ago. Quite a dry stretch there between intelligent comedies. A sad reflection of our times.

Yes it is. Have you seen "Idiocracy"? That movie seems to be the direction our country is moving.
