Few have blazed a trail of success like the great Steven Spielberg. Looking at the current landscape, does any young director have the chop to reach similar heights?

It's the classic saying that no one can replace him, merely take over for him. I don't count Cameron because he came around at the same time Spielberg did. I definitely agree that Nolan is approaching that status very quickly though.
OK, I like 1/2 of Finchers movies, not bad, not bad.
Fincher has done it with some very difficult scripts, which makes it that much more impressive. Dragon Tattoo was my personal favorite.
Fight Club was the bees' knees', Dragon Tattoo was great.
Seven and Zodiac are my favorites. The former is actually my #2 favorite film.
Se7en was great! Zodiac really only so-so for me, was excited for it, saw it in theatre, thought it was just ok. Social Network was kinda cool, love the Alien franchise, but his was number 3 right? Just ok, amusing at best.
All great choices. Tarantino certainly deserves more credit.
I wouldn't have Snyder on that list. Regardless of how successful or not he has been, he's not even close in terms of overall impact, influence, and quality.
I have him on solely for 300 and Dawn of the Dead remake, I rarely like re-makes, but Dawn of the Dead rules, the original is one of my favs, and to even come close, demands respect. For me at least.
Speaking of which, I am so ready for that new 300 to come out.
Dawn of the Dead is one of the worthiest remakes out there, but I've never been a fan of 300. Too much style, too little substance. I don't think I've seen anything else from him.
I'm sure you've seen Watchmen, No? Pretty badass. Sucker Punch, super slick, all Snyder. And Yeah EJ, see that trailer for the new 300, man o man I cant wait!
