I think Kanye West subscribes to the old philosophy:
"There is no such thing as (bad) publicity! If they're not talking about you it means you're not relevant anymore."
Ironically some people feel true artists are allowed to be "odd" have quirks or color outside of lines when it comes to how they conduct themselves.
Arrogance, being avant garde or a nonconformist has traditionally been tolerated by society when they "believe" someone is a "genius"
It's been reported early on Steve Jobs founder of Apple Computers use to show up to business meetings in bare feet.
He was once asked about conducting marketing surveys to determine what products to make. He said:
"People don't know what they want until we tell them what they want."
It's not uncommon for people like Kayne West, Steve Jobs, or Muhammad Ali to be known as polarizing people who are hated as much as they are loved. They don't care what others think.
This political season we're witnessing Donald Trump and his ego defy conventional wisdom by saying/doing things no politician ever has!
