Not really. However, there are people who worship celebrities & hang on to their every word, especially their last words. To many people, especially those who have little to no self-esteem, are powerless, less successful, &/or haven't lived up to their potential, view celebrities as their alter ego. Since such people have grey, monotonous, subpar lives, they live vicariously through celebrities who have what they wish they COULD have but don't. So they follow &/or are even obsessed w/what celebrities eat, wear, & say.
A subcategory of people elevate celebrities to the status of gods. They view celebrities as perfection physically, mentally, intellectually, & socioeconomically. They maintain that celebrities must possess the perfect attributes or they wouldn't be at their status. They view the celebrities as MORE so whatever celebrities say or do have paramount legitimacy in their eyes. They see celebrities as supernatural & flawless so their words & actions carry weight while they are mere, flawed mortals with nothing of significance.
