No, it was not prophetic. We have over seven billion people, and far more obese than starving - we have the calories to feed everyone, but it is distribution disrupted by war or sheer poverty that prevents some from getting food. And if we cut back on meat production, we could easily feed 10 billion with the current food production levels.
Pollution is decreasing in the West, and as the developing world becomes richer, it will decrease there, too.
The oceans are not dying. Acidification of the oceans is today's hype, just as acid rain was over-hyped in the 1970s or "OMG, all the rain forests are going to disappear" were said in the 1980s.
Climate change is what they called global warming when it stopped warming around 2000, and they like that title better since it covers everything from ice to heatwaves, hurricanes to lack of storms.
Yet for the political left, "for the planet" is their default justification for all totalitarian policies. We know this because they had the same demands for population control, censorship, rationing and total control when the 1970s scare was a new ice age.
