Why is the news called the media?


Many years ago, the significant events of the day were called the news. In one hour, the news casters presented the news as close to the facts as they could after verification for truthfulness. Today, the news is called the media and news outlets. Now we have 24 hour echo chambers containing talk show hosts and opinion panels. They are divided into liberal and conservative camps. Liberal news is called main stream media, and lame stream media. Conservative news includes fox news, Breitbart and Alt Right. There is even a third category called fake news. No wonder the country is divided,

    Most of what you say is true, but the people themselves have demanded it. When news ratings began to fall, sensationalism was discovered as a way to win them back. The keyword is "ratings".
