I remember it, but I didn't watch it. I was familiar with the general idea and most of the names of the characters, but that was pretty much because of media covering well known shows in one way or another. My kids were little/babies then, and I'd only indulge in one or two of that type of drama that was on at 10:00 p.m. (weeknights and per week). Depending on which year, exactly, it was, I watched Dallas, Falcon Crest pretty faithfully. (Remember those?) For a limited time somewhere in there I watched some limited episodes of Knots Landing (Thursday nights) somewhere in the mix. Dallas was its own thing. I didn't have time for spin-off Ewings in a different setting.
I really liked Falcon Crest and the people on that.
At some point along the way and in (or at least related to) the mix there was Thirty Something (Tuesday nights at 10). I liked and watched that one for as long as it was on (or for most of when it was on).
Having said all that, I just thought the people on Dynasty were too ridiculous. What makes one see one group of people on a show "too ridiculous" and another group on a "same-type-of-thing" show not quite as ridiculous (or at least kind of likeable), I don't know.
Those were the days when two or three nights a work-week would have a half-decent magazine show on at 10 (not just "real-life murder mystery" type stuff).
I'm not usually one to be interested much in either television or in re-hashing/re-living "old days", but today I'm in the mood for this type of foolishness.
