During one period in my life and on occasion still, I have a terrible time falling to sleep. More because of an active mind than noise. The type of music that worked for me were what they called 'Sounds of Nature'. One purpose for them is meditation. I use it today at times for mindfulness sessions.
It falls into the new age genre. The aim is being 'Sounds of Nature' like waves upon the shore, falling rain, thunderstorms, sounds of the winds, and more. They are also adapted using piano, guitar, and some wind instruments too. They are at YouTube some with lengths well past an hour. Just do a search using 'Sounds of Nature' at Amazon.
