Oh geez, there were so many good ones! Here are my top 3:

    1. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 1 - I loved the way they interpreted this. They stayed very true to the book, without any of the boring camping scenes. I also think that they wrapped it up really nicely - I had been sort of worrying about how they would finish it, but I think they did a very good job, and I'm extremely excited about part 2 this July.

    2. The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader - Again, this was a fairly accurate adaptation of the book. It wasn't exactly like the book of course, but they translated it to film very well. The graphics were amazing, and they definitely showed Eustace's transformation from annoying ponce to useful, brave cousin very well. I'm really hoping that they at least do The Silver Chair, if not all the rest of the books.

    3. Tangled - I was very impressed with this movie. With all the crap that Disney's been pumping out in the past several years, Tangled was very refreshing - almost reminiscent of early Disney princess movies. This along with their last princess movie, Princess & the Frog, are definitely a step in the right direction for Disney. Of course, the backbone of any good Disney princess movie is the music, and I loved it. I actually ended up buying several of the songs off iTunes (I also loved that they got Alen Menken to do the instrumentals - he did the songs for The Little Mermaid). I will definitely be adding this movie to my Disney library when it comes out!

    Better late than never!

    The King's Speech
    Black Swan
    True Grit

seem like actual contenders. Have I seen any of those? No.

I have seen The Social Network (pretty decent, but not best of the year-worthy) and Inception (no...just no).

Planning on checking out those 3 soon enough though.
