A student, business and movie enthusiast. Love sports and fitness, also interested in tech.

Is the new Ant-man worth watching ?

There are various reason why you should watch it, and I'll explain why.

Review Breakdown

I'll break down this article into several parts.

1. The Plot

2. Special Effects

3. Things which make this movie stand out

The Plot (Without Spoilers)

As we know, the movie will tell us about the Ant-Man and a new heroine played by an old character - The Wasp ( aka Hope ). I don't want to tell you about the plot in details so that I don't tell you a spoiler by accident, but overall I can tell I liked the plot of the movie a lot. It's interesting, there's a lot of action, not a whole lot of drama, many jokes and, of course, family plays a big role in this movie. As you can judge based on the trailers, there's a new "villain" with not that of a good background story, in my personal opinion. You can form yours after watching the movie.

I like how Marvel puts the scenes after the movie, which, in this case, play a big role, so make sure to stay after the movie ends to watch those !

Overall, I really liked the plot, I think that it fits the Ant-man very well. I give the plot an 8.5/10, cause everything is as it should be ( Once again, this is my personal opinion ).

Special Effects

In a movie of this genre, you expect the effects to be on point. Some movies disappointed me, especially in the DC cinematic universe. I certainly don't think the effects are of top importance, but you can't make such a movie with bad special effects and editing, cause it'll look like a 1990's movie, which, to be honest, is inappropriate in 2018. Don't get me wrong, I love a lot of movies from the 20th century, Back to the Future was amazing for its time, and even now, cause it's a classic. But progress is unpreventable, movies are gonna get more and more realistic, even though I can't imagine them being better than those filmed now. Ant-Man and the Wasp is a good example of a movie with solid special effects. They aren't the best in the world, but they were certainly a class higher than, for example, "The Justice League".

I give the special effects an 8/10.

Things that make the movie stand out

The thing I liked about this movie is that it kind of stood out. It's humour was great, due, which is typical of most Marvel movies, the events took place in San-Francisco, not in the standard city - New-York. The fact they used their tools to make things smaller or bigger was awesome, you could tell from first sight it was a movie about the Ant-man. There was, obviously, a Stan Lee cameo, but I wouldn't say it was all that special. And the thing that made the movie stand out is the scene after the movie, there are 2 of them, but one was honestly useless, whereas the other is a must watch for all fans of the cinematic universe.
