Band T-shirts Feature Fabulous Artwork Too!

Jeans and band t-shirts have been the preferred attire for decades. We all love our music and we all wear our favorite band t-shirts until they are seamless and threadbare. The artwork on them is often as beautiful as any artwork in a museum. Let's face it, like the albums themselves, the apparel pieces are collector's items and our own personal history can be told by the pieces we have owned. These shirts reflect our preference in music at a particular time as well as our mood or frame of mind for a particular day.

I remember many times being excited about purchasing, owning and wearing my new apparel after a concert. There was a time that if you didn't get the it at the event, you simply were not able to ever get it. Now, with band merchandise being available with online shopping, we can even purchase many of the items before the concert! How awesome is that? Get it before the concert, wear it to the performance and hope to get the performing artist to sign it. Man! Talk about a collector's item, ugh, provided you ever take it off again :)

I had a RUSH tee shirt when I was a kid. Still my favorite. Thanks for the great lens. Super choices.

I have many tees from concerts I've attended, but my favorite is the classic lips-and-tongue logo short from the Rolling Stones '89 Steel Wheels tour. Rock on!

The vast majority of my clothing is band shirts. Though, mostly, its the older bands. Nice lens.

Great bands that you've featured. My personal favorite band shirt that I own is a Guns N' Roses t-shirt that I purchased at a concert in 2004 from the Chinese Democracy tour. It was a full six years before the album was released, but it was still called the Chinese Democracy tour for some reason. Squid Angel blessed!

It's so great that T-shirts are available for our favorite bands. I've had a few over the years, but my favorite 'old' T-shirts came from college marching bands as my 'kids' were each in their college marching band and hubby was band announcer ('The Voice') of two college bands - one in California for 5 years and another in Missouri for 5 years. Those T-shirts are as special to us as the terrific ones of Your favorite bands here! :-)

Great shirts you've featured. There are plenty of good new bands to choose from here, as well as classics like Led Zeppelin. Bands t-shirts were my only attire in high school, so I can appreciate this!

I love finding shirts from the 80's band, if possible the real one. But I'd settle for a Gowan reprint. My husband collect Metallica and Iron maiden t-shirt, but for obvious reason he can't wear them often and certainly not at work!

I am glad retro band tees are coming back cause the ones I always got when I was younger would always shrink after the first time they got washed.......

@puzzlerpaige: How thoughtful of your brother to bring you a t-shirt from the concert! You are absolutely right. It was definitely about being "cool" :)

I remember the only band t-shirt I had in school. And I didn't even go to the concert! My brother did though and he bought the last one for me :-). Then I wore it to school the next day and everyone assumed I had gone to the concert. Of course, back then, that was important because it made me feel "cool".

@Lou165: Oh, how I remember saving my babysitting income for those concert shirts! I remember several times I didn't have the money for the t-shirts. It is really neat to be able to buy them online now and not just at the concerts.

@jptanabe: Ah, such great parents! I bet you were exhausted when you finally got home, but I doubt you would have considered doing anything any other way. I am sure your daughter and her friends appreciated you both for taking them. If they didn't at the time, I am certain they do now.

I love tees, when I was younger I couldn't afford to buy the tee if I went to the concert so I'm making the most of it these days as when I went to the Reformation tour I brought a Spandau tee and a TFF tee. Apparently TFF are okay for me to wear when picking dd up from school, but Spandau's embarrassing LOL

Great collection! My daughter has a Yellow Card T-shirt which doesn't have beautiful art, just the name of the band, but it was the first concert she went to so it's special. My husband and I have less great memories of that event - we drove her and her friend about 4 hours to the concert hall in New Jersey. We walked along the boardwalk till it got dark, went and ate dinner, came back and waited and waited and waited. Finally we heard that Yellow Card had just started playing! So we got more coffee and waited some more. But it was all worth it to see how happy they were when they came out!
