Adele coming to New Zealand

Adele has two concerts in Auckland in March 2017

There were many great female singers, it was hard to pick the one I think was top for 2016.

Being from the older generation I still enjoy listening to all the female singers, their voices are so powerful and music very moving.

I didn't make a pick for 2015, far too many great female singers

There is a poll further down below, giving you the choice, Adele or Taylor swift. Please vote.

You can vote for another singer if you didn't like either of these two below.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13, 1989) is an American singer-songwriter and actress.

A very talented entertainer, a joy to listen to music.

She has many achievements which includes Grammy Awards, many Country Music awards.

To date she has sold over twenty-six million albums, seventy million digital single downloads.

Katy Perry

Katy Perry a female singer that has stayed in my mind ever since she made the hit "She kissed a girl and liked it" and she keeps on writing and singing many more songs which are very moving, she tours all around the world, came to New Zealand in 2014.

Katy Perry has cemented her status as a best-selling superstar with global success. The album Roar has been No 1 in 8 countries.

She ranked seventh on the 2013 Forbes list for "Top-Earning Women In Music" with $39 million.

Echosmith - Sydney Sierota

A new song has caught my ears in the last few months of 2014 it is Echosmith which is an American rock and indie pop band formed in February 2009 from Toluca Lake, Los Angeles.

This band is composed of four siblings: Graham, Sydney, Noah, and Jamie Sierota.

Sydney Sierota the lead vocalist of Echosmith is a voice that you need to listen to, I have added her even though it is a band, you need to listen to this voice. Click the video tab above and see what you think, her voice sends cold shivers down my spine.

I haven't heard much about her in 2015.

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta she was born 28 March 1986

At the age of 4 she learned to play the piano by ear. By age 13, she had written her first piano ballad, that was just the start of her career, that little girl is from a good Italian New York family and as everybody knows now, that she is a very talented artist which has many years of entertaining the world still to come.

Lorde

Ella Yelich-O'Connor her stage name Lorde

Born in Auckland New Zealand - 7 November 1996

Elton John raved about this 16-year-old New Zealand singer-songwriter Lorde

She released

The Love Club - March 2013

Tennis Court - June 2013

Royals - Hit No1 on the US iTunes charts Mid September 2013.

She released her first album late September - Pure Heroine.

What I find unusual for such a young popular singer, that she doesn't play any instruments, she relies entirely on her voice and she is good at it.

2014 has been a good year for Lorde

January 26th 2014 Lorde won two awards at the 56 Grammy Awards for Song of the year and Best Pop Solo Performance.

February 19 2014 she got another Award for International Female Solo Artist at the 34 Brit Awards.

She has won many awards since.

2014 has been a year of growth for Lorde especially for someone so young, I wonder what the future holds for her?

Beyonce

Beyonce Knowles - I am picking her as a singer that has a lot going for her, so I think we will see her topping the charts for 2013, which she did and I'm sure she will do just as well in 2014.

I have seen pictures of her with her daughter Blue Ivy, she has made a great mother, and maybe she will make it to be the hottest female singer of all time. She is blooming, watch this space as the year goes by.

Beyoncé - XO

Pink

Pinks real name is Alecia Beth Moore Hart born September 8, 1979.

She is an American singer, songwriter, and actress.

She married Carey Hart on January 7 2006, they have one child.

In 2013, she appeared on Forbes list of Highest Paid Musicians, with the earnings of $32 million.

Stargrrl: Pleased you enjoyed the article about best female singers.

I think Sydney Sierota has a very interesting voice, hope to hear a lot more from her.

I'm always listening for new female voices as they don't often get a chance to make the top with Taylor Swift and Katy Perry and those top singers.

Even Lorde our kiwi singer seems to have disappeared in the last few months, hope she comes up with another top song, (yes I'm a New Zealander lass).

      Thanks for the visit.

Taylor Swift, very pleasant voice I enjoy her songs.

I find it hard to pick only one female singer as there are so many talented voices and enjoy the swing of most of the music, some very interesting words to their songs.

Keeps an old body young, music helps the world go round.

This was a really interesting and useful read! I do hope you will continue with this. :-) My choice for 2014-2015 is both the song(s) and beautiful women who sing them..Katy Perry – Roar! and Kelly Clarkson - Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You).

Kat Perry was my sister Mary Lou's favorite song and I remember we sang it once in the car. :( Kelly Clarkson's song would become the song to listen to as I fought to get up out of bed each day.

Great choices! Awesome presentation! :-) Up ++++ and shared

That's interesting to hear that Carrie Underwood came from your area, so I don't need to say anything about her, as you will know her far better than I will. I enjoy listening to her songs also and I can tell by the comments here that there are many others that enjoy her also.

I voted for Carrie Underwood because she's the only one I think I have heard sing. I confess to being a little too old school. I saw her doing a Linda Ronstadt tribute with Stevie Nicks at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions and thought she was fantastic. Great hub!

@TreasuresBrenda: Your reply to these article is most likely what most people will say. As an older person I never did either, but in the last couple of years since I took a interest in the latest singers I find I really enjoy the music more, because I can now put a face to the songs and the music is very comforting in my old age, the beautiful lyrics to most of the songs are true with life, so I enjoy the modern music and have the radio going everyday. In New Zealand we have a very popular radio station which play the latest songs, give updates on how the young music artists are progressing with life.

This is a great list of female singers, I personally like Katy Perry and Kelly Clarkson, they have really great voices.

I love them too. I think my favorite for right now is Lady Gaga for pop music and Carrie Underwood for country. My REAL favorite is Jackie Evancho. ~blessed~

Most of them, but not Rihanna. She is on every 3rd song on the radio, and I'm tired of hearing her. I hope Carly Rae Jepsen makes it farther than her one hit she has so far.
