These are my top 3 Pixar movies

There have been 14 full featured Pixar movies as of 2014. Pixar has kept Disney on the map with animated movies since the release of Toy Story in 1995. In choosing three top movies from a group of 14 excellent movies, I had to make some tough choices between great Pixar characters like Sculley and Mike, Lightening McQueen and Mater, Nemo, Jorie, and Marlin, and Woody and Buzz Lightyear.

Box office receipts is misleading since the prices of tickets change over time and dramatically favor recent releases. If there was a tickets purchased statistic it would be a much better indicator of overall success.

Part of the allure of the Pixar movies is the connections from movie to movie. For example, the voice of John Ratzenberger is in every Pixar movie. In many movies, the Pizza Planet truck is seen and a Luxo Ball. Finally the characters A113 has appeared in one form or another in each movie.

Finding Nemo

Finding Nemo was the 5th Pixar movie to be released.

This is one Father and Son movie I really enjoyed. After a barracude attacks clown fishes, Marlin and Coral, the only remaining egg ends up being Nemo. Nemo is the classic son who wants to experience everything, and Marlin turns totally conservative and not risking anything. In the classic son vs dad seen, Nemo does the exact opposite of what his dad asks and is captured. The dentist who captured Nemo places him into a fish tank.

The rest of the movie is split into two stories, Nemo trying to escape from the Fish Tank with his tank buddies led by Gil, while Marlin trying to get to Sydney to find his son with the help of Dorie, voice by Ellen Degeneres, and a cast of characters.

Along the way, Nemo realizes his dad is just trying to protect him and Marlin realizes he has to let Nemo experience life no matter how dangerous it might be.

Favorite quotes from Finding Nemo:

"Fish are our friends not Food"

"I'm going to touch the Butt"

"Mount Wannahockaloogie"

"Saw the whole thing, dude. First you were all like "whoa", and we were like "whoa", and you were like "whoa...""

The Incredibles

The Incredibles was the 6th Pixar movie and was released in 2004.

My second choice for the best Pixar movie is The Incredibles. The Incredibles is a family of super heroes, mom, dad, sister, brother, and baby. Each family member has a different power.

The movie starts with the super heroes being sued for injuring people while saving their lives, which causes the government to place the super heroes into a type of witness protection plan. The "normal" life isn't too exciting for Mr. Incredible until he finds an employer who wants him to use his powers again. However, this new employer is looking for revenge from Mr. Incredible and builds a machine that attacks a city and allows Buddy to become the hero.

Through trying to find out what happened to her husband and fighting the machine, the family comes to realize that they can co-exist in the "normal" world and use their powers for good.

Favorite quotes from The Incredibles

"Behold, the Underminer! I'm always beneath you, but nothing is beneath me"

"He starts monologuing"

"Okay, I'm intervening! I'm intervening!"

"We're dead! We're dead! We survived but we're dead!"

"That was totally wicked!"

Monsters, Inc.

My third favorite Pixar movie is 4th movie, Monsters, Inc. released in 2001.

The Monster world extracts energy from the human world by making children scream. They access the human world through the chidlren's closets and believe that being touched by a human will kill them. Sculley is about to become the all time leading scarer at a time when children are becoming less frightened.

In a twist, a human child crawls into the Monster world and sets Sculley and Mike on a quest to return the child to her room. During this adventure, they discover a plot to kidnapp children and extract screams out of them. However, they learn something along the way about the power of a child's laugh and change their tactics from screams to laughter.

Monster's Ince is a great movie about friendship and the trust that develops between Sculley and Mike.

Favorite Quotes from Monsters Inc.

"Welcome to the Himalayas"

"23-19!"

"Sulley, you're not supposed to name it. Once you name it, you start getting attached to it. Now put that thing back where it came from or so help me..."

"Can I borrow your odorant?"

"Your stunned silence is very reassuring"

"Kitty"

"Oh, sure. Tough kids, sissy kids, kids who climb on rocks"

Disney Pixar Bloopers

These are the best, because they are not actually bloopers but creations from the animators.
