Billy Joel - Storm Front
When I was a young girl I loved music. This love has never gone away, though the style of music I listen to has. I received a record player from Fisher Price as a toddler. That was the beginning of my love of music. My mother would buy me lots of records which I enjoyed listening to. I listened to music a lot of the time upstairs by myself. There was a stereotype in a sitting room upstairs. I liked going there by myself to dance and listen to music.
My grandmother lived in the same house as me. She never enjoyed the same music as me. This album was one of the exceptions. There was one song on it that my grandmother really liked. It was called 'So It Goes'. It was a soft song which was singing accompanied by piano. There were no other instruments. My grandmother hated noisy music.
I had to get this album. I was just a young girl who was still in public school. I had started showing an interest in purchasing music. Back in those days there were not yet CDs to buy. People still purchased their albums on cassette. I wanted this album because of one song. It was called 'We Didn't Start The Fire'. This song was never noticed by my grandmother. I have no idea what her opinion was, but it was a heavier song with plenty of loud musical instruments and drums. This song listed out many historical events. I was very good at memorizing song lyrics and prided myself on being able to sing this entire song from memory. It was a bit of a tongue twister.
Here are some Billy Joel songs.
