BLACKPINK

Updated on August 19, 2016

Black Pink sometimes stylized as BLACKPINK or BLΛƆKPIИK is the newest South Korean girl group, formed and trained under YG Entertainment. The group consists of 4 members, hailing from different parts of the world, mainly from South Korea, New Zealand, Australia and Thailand. The girl group debuted on August 8, "Boombayah" and "Whistle" from their debut album "Square One". Upon coming out, the girls have slayed the music charts both on South Korea and from other parts of the globe.

The members are Kim Ji soo, Jennie Kim, Park Chae Young (Rose) and Lalisa Manoban (Lisa). Not much is known yet regarding the group apart from the basic information surrounding the web. The girls had a live broadcast debut on SBS Inkigayo last August 14, 2016, performing both their singles.

Many has anticipated the debut of these girls since Yang Hyun Suk has praised them highly, saying that these girls are full of talent and charm. Apart from SBS Inkigayo, which regularly airs every Sunday at 3:40 PM KST, the girls are nowhere to be seen. Yesterday, YG has released a Dance Practice for their hit single "Whistle" and has garnered millions of views in just a few hours.

Despite their lack of appearances in music shows and variety shows, YG is keeping silent regarding the schedule of the girls. Also, the other iconic girl group 2NE1, from the same company, YGE, has made comeback plans for summer, but it seems that the plan has been postponed. Fans can only hope that both the sunbae and Hoobae group can one day perform on the same stage.
