Toy Story 3

Toy Story 3 on Blu-ray

Toy Story 3 IS RECOMMENDED FOR CHILDREN OF KINDERGARTEN AGE AND UP.

"What is Andy going to do with his old toys?"

Toy Story 3 continues Andy's story except now Andy is grown up and heading off to college...like many of the children who watched the first Toy Story movie, my son included.

In Toy Story 3 we discover, along with Woody, Buzz, Jessie and the rest of the gang, what is to become of Andy's favorite toys. Are they headed for the landfill, going to be recycled or on the cusp of a new adventure?

USA Today said, "Toy Story 3, the best of the three, is everything a movie should be: hilarious, touching, exciting and clever."

Toy Story 3 is not only considered by the experts to be Disney's best blu-ray movie but it also fairs in the top ten blu-ray movies as rated by ordinary movie viewers. It has also, and not surprisingly, been at the top of Amazon's best selling blu-ray movie list, exactly where you would expect a movie that was extremely well received by the movie going public to be.

Blu-ray.com said, "Toy Story 3 (on blu-ray) is an AV Powerhouse."

Since the story provides something for adults and children, this may be the movie you HAVE to own on blu-ray if you share your home with children or if you simply love animated movies.

A Note About All Of The Toy Story Movies

It is worth noting that ALL three of the original Toy Story movies fair extremely well in the blu-ray quality reviews. Therefore, f you are upgrading your movie collection to include the blu-ray version of the movies by Disney, you might like to consider adding this boxed set to your collection. It is a bit more expensive than a single blu-ray movie but is a very good value when you consider that it includes all three of the Toy Story movies.

Beauty and the Beast

Beauty and The Beast

Beauty and The Beast on Blu-ray

Beauty and The Beast is recommended for children of Kindergarten age and up.

Beauty and the Beast is not as old as some Disney classics but it is definitely a hugely popular Disney movie. Featuring a young woman named Belle who lives in 18th century France and a handsome prince in a far away castle who is under a spell that turned him into a beast. To remove the curse, he must fall in love with someone who loves him too. Belle and The Beast meet when Belle arrives at his castle to save her father who is being held prisoner there. She strikes a deal with the fearful beast in trade for her father's freedom and eventually falls in love with the prince.

Sometimes an Amazon customer review just says it like it is as is the case with this review by E.B. Yangli. He says that he and his family eagerly anticipated Beauty and the Beast on blu-ray disc and purchased it right away. They were then awestruck at how well the movie was restored. He felt that the picture was nothing less than stunningly perfect, vibrant and natural and said that it was hard to watch the film because the picture was so well done.

He closed by saying, "No matter what version you watch this in, you are bound to have a great movie time as a family. But watching it on blu-ray was beyond my greatest expectations. It made a remarkable story even more beautiful, which I always thought impossible." He gave the movie five stars for both an excellent film and an excellent blu-ray release.

Finding Nemo

Finding Nemo is recommended for children of kindergarten age and up.

Finding Nemo follows the adventures of a clownfish in the Great Barrier Reef as he attempts to save his son Nemo who has been caught by a diver. It’s a beautiful journey with plenty of humour and emotions that won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film in 2003.

"You'll never sea anything like it."

Pinocchio

Pinocchio on Blu-ray

Pinocchio is recommended for children aged 6 and up.

This 1940 film is based on the fairy tale of a wooden puppet who wants to be a boy, a real live boy. This movie at times is magical, mythical and yes, even scary. You should be aware that characters are swallowed by a whale and that there is also an apparent death in this movie. There is mischief-making and boys smoking and, of course, Pinocchio tells lies...but learns his lesson in the end. I have seen it recommended for children six and up which seems reasonable to me.

Pinocchio is also considered to have one of the best Disney movie soundtracks with songs like "When You Wish Upon a Star," "I've Got No Strings," "Give a Little Whistle" and "An Actor's Life for Me." Add a copy of the Pinnochio soundtrack to this blu-ray disc for an amazing Christmas gift package that will be treasured forever.

"You won't find a sweeter story or a tidier morality tale about the virtues of being 'brave, truthful, and unselfish." ~~ Entertainment Weekly

A Bug's Life

A Bug's Life on Blu-ray

A Bug's Life is recommended Kindergarten aged children and up.

Disney-Pixar's A Bug's Life will take you into the world where bugs live. Flick is searching for ways to be a better bug. After he accidentally loses the food that the ants left for the grasshoppers, he needs to protect his family and fellow ants. He decides to find some warrior bugs to save them from the grasshoppers but he winds up with some flea-circus vaudevillians who are planning to perform their act and not to fight. In the end, however, the vaudevillians are able to help and Flick is able to prove that he is a hero.

The Movie Mom's Review of A Bug's Life

The Movie Mom said, "Antz was largely brown, but this ant movie uses a paintbox of color to produce stunning images with luminous tones. You'll need to see it twice to appreciate the scope of the movie's visual wit and technological mastery. It also has the funniest credit sequence I have ever seen -- be sure to watch all the way to the end to enjoy it."
