Burt Reynolds

Burt Reynolds and Friends Museum

The Burt Reynolds and Friends Museum in Jupiter,Florida is a fun way to spend an afternoon. If you are looking for a walk down memory lane this museum will provide you with lots of memorabilia from the entertainment industry. Burt is said to be something of a "pack rat" and over the years he has collected tons of autographed photos, personalized notes and items from his movies.

As my husband and I entered the museum we were met by the friendly volunteers who were anxious to answer any questions we had about Burt and his museum. They gave us an overview of the museum, told us we were free to take all the photos we wanted, and made sure we knew to ask them any questions.

We were also greeted by the life size cutout of Burt that you see here. We then started our tour around the rooms, where the walls were full of photos and posters. We saw a chair made of hockey sticks from his movie Mystery Alaska, a red horse carriage built for Burt by Dolly Parton, and a guitar that belonged to Bobby Goldsboro. We also saw photos from Burt's football days, his movie and tv days and his producer days.

There was also a recent photo of Burt, who turned 78 on February 11th, and his dog Precious.

In this lens I will show you some of the photos I took on our tour of the museum. I hope you enjoy this tour of one of my favorite film stars.

Burt Reynolds- football star - high school and college years

One wall in the museum is dedicated to Burt's high school and college football career. During his Senior year at Palm Beach High School, Burt made the First Team All State as a fullback. This gained him a number of football scholarships. He accepted the scholarship from Florida State where he was an all star halfback. His career was short lived due to an injury.

Burt Reynolds- Director

There were several chairs in the museum from the days when Burt was a producer/director.

I hope it will be Comics Open, the new golf movie to be shot this August in LA with a Christmas 2012 release date. Feature length movie in the comedy vein of Caddy Shack. I pledged on Kickstarter to be an intern for the movie. Lots of levels and opportunities. It should be a thrill of a life time. Look for the clip from the Director Paul Madden. Lots of well known talent including Paul Rodriquez and Judge Reinhold. The book was hilarious. It should be a blast and golf cult classic. Burt Reynolds is only in the very best films.

One of my favorite moments with Burt Reynolds is his cameo in The Silent Movie by Mel Brooks. The shower scene always cracks me up!

I got 4 out of 10 on the quiz. Guess I don't know Burt so well. I remember the Smokey and the Bandit and Cannonball Run movies. I was a kid when they were out.

Smokey and the Bandit has to be a favorite Burt Reynolds movie. I've also enjoyed many of his newer movies. What fun to see all his memorabilia and know he actually touched it. :)
