Celeste and Jesse Forever Soundtrack

Updated on July 3, 2013

From the Daughter of Quincy Jones

The Celeste and Jesse Forever Soundtrack was scored by the grandson of music legend Quincy Jones, record producer Sunny Levine along with DJ Zach Cowie otherwise known as Turquoise Wisdom in their first collaboration doing a movie score.

Thanks to Rashida's family connections, director Lee Toland Krieger reveals in an interview the movie was fortunate in getting some songs licensed that an indie movie would otherwise not be able to afford. As a producer, Rashida called on her family to pull a favor or two to get certain tracks in the movie. Even though it took a couple of months, the movie soundtrack was finally made available a couple of months after the movie came out.

But just because she's the daughter of a famous record producer doesn't mean Rashida Jones has had it easy. You gotta admire her stamina and stick-to-itness to go beyond simply settling for parts where she's cast as just the girlfriend or relegated to being part of an ensemble cast. Jones put pen to paper with writing partner, Will McCormack, brother of actress Mary McCormack to write the script for this brilliant indie romantic comedy Celeste and Jesse Forever.

Ivy League educated, the former cast member of The Office and Parks and Recreation star combines brains with beauty. Much of the buzz from when the film debuted at the Sundance Film Festival is that Celeste and Jesse is that it's going to be this year's sleeper hit, much like when Like Crazy took off when it got released.

This little indie rom. com is projected to do well with high hopes of an expanded release is the talk surrounding Jones chemistry with Saturday Night Live's Andy Samberg who is looking for the movie to do well as he casts off from SNL with this summer's release That's My Boy co-starring Adam Sandler. Celeste and Jesse Forever also stars Emma Roberts, Elijah Woods, Chris Messina and Ari Graynor and was released August 3, 2012. DVD Release Date: February 5, 2013.

Besides looking for Rashida in upcoming episodes of Parks and Recreation look for her in the indie film Decoding Annie Parker co-starring Helen Hunt, Alice Eve, Maggie Grace and Aaron Paul which was recently screened in April 2013 at the Palm Beach International Film Festival and Dallas International Film Festival.

In 2012, Andy Samberg bid adieu to Saturday Night Live. You can see Samberg as a male cheerleader this summer in Adam Sandler's follow-up sequel Grown-Ups 2 co-starring David Spade, Chris Rock & Kevin James coming out July 12, 2013. He's also in The To Do List with SNL cast member Bill Hader and Aubrey Plaza in The To Do List which gets released July 26, 2013.
