Coolest Anime Weapons You Wished You Had
Coolest Anime weapons you wished you had
Besides the pretty faces, cool uniforms and action-packed adventures, larger-than-life anime weapons are one of the best things we enjoy in an anime series. I'm sure fellow Otakus and Cosplayers out there have all had their "OMG I NEED TO BUY THAT NOW!" moment when they see their hero/heroine bursting unto scene with some kick-ass sword. Action manga's authors and animators strive to create an impressive weapon design, complete with cool powers that would stand out from the rest. But alas, only the coolest ones make the cut!
We check out which are some of the most epic weapons in Anime history that we are dying to own
Ever felt the urge to kill someone but afraid you'll regret it? Then you'll have a field day with Kenshin's reverse-blade sword! Upholding his vow never to kill again, Kenshin's sword blade was created in a way that it is incapable of killing any opponents. Aside from the sleekness of the blade and handle, the Sakabatou is an iconic sword for fans of samurai anime and makes a great collector's item. Now all you have to do is master Hiten Mitsurugi-ryu.
The Death Note
Okay, a plain black notebook isn't exactly what you had in mind when I said epic, but when placed in the wrong (or right) hands, the Death Note is an ultimate killing machine which helps you rid enemies without getting your hands dirty! Get ready for some sinister plotting with this deadly weapon.
Bankai, Konjiki Ashisogi Jizo
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's Mayuri's floating-octopus-baby hot-air balloon thingie! I can't figure out what it is for the life of me but I want one of these nuclear warheads. Not only does this creature exhale lethal poison extending to a hundred mile radius, it has retractable blades that stick out like claws to run through and skewer its opponents. For maximum damage, the Konjiki Ashisogi Jizo charges through and devours anything that stands in its way. Did I also mention it comes with a self-destruct button?
Which Bleach character wields the coolest weapon?
Nowadays, you need not make your own weapon ^^
Ok let's face it - scythes are one of the coolest looking weapons especially when their wielders are reapers of sorts. If I have my pick of the most epic-looking scythe, it would have to be Abel Nightroad's Blood Scythe. Once his Crusnik power is released, Abel is able to telepathically manipulate his scythe, which is made up of his crystallized blood and the elements of darkness and water. The entire arc of the scythe is made out of two symmetrical semi-crescent blades and has a chain-like whip connecting the two ends.
Bankai, Daiguren Hyorinmaru
At the command of Captain Toushiro Hitsugaya, the majestic ice dragon Hyorinmaru lends its power to his master, allowing Hitsugaya to manipulate the water in the environment by turning it into ice. This gives him the ticket to get creative with his attacks. We see the young captain using various techniques to destroy his opponents like hail storms, encasing them in ice prisons and even creating ice clones of himself. What's more his ice wings double up as a shield from any enemy attacks!

It doesn't hurt if your weapon also looks dashing in spirit form
Living up to its name, the Alligator is one mean bloody killing machine. In the manga, Nichol uses his trusty weapon to slice every possible part of his enemy's body leaving a massacre of guts and innards in his wake. Of course no ordinary person can wield the blade let alone lift it as it is over 40 kilos. In the hands of a Jackal however, it unleashes a destructive force of power.

Hellsing ARMS .454 Casull Auto
Amidst all the over-the-top weaponry and ammo, this classic semi-automatic handgun still stands out for its old school design which was modelled after pre WWII handguns. If you love your firearms, you'll appreciate the iconic design from its long barrel to the trademark engravings and the wood grip. Although the number of rounds/bullet capacity wasn't mentioned in the series, it's definitely a capable weapon if it allows Vampire killer Alucard to wipe out a gang of vamps without reloading.
(D Gray Man)
It may not be as impressive as Allen's Crown Clown but when Kanda activates his innocence and slides his forefingers to produce Mugen, it makes the simple sword look ultra-cool. Also the scabbard design compliments the Order's sleek uniform, and the sword is drawn from the back instead of at the waist which looks ten times cooler. The different stages of illusions that Kanda activates reminds me of Rokudo Mukuro's six paths of reincarnation, just that he summons insects from the netherworld and feeds his sword with his own life force. As the story progresses, Mugen evolves to become more awesome-looking each time. Its blade goes from silver, to black, to electricity-coated, to *spoiler alert* a crystalized blade.
X-Gloves Version Vongola Ring
(Katekyo Hitman Reborn)
The X-Gloves are every punk rocker's dream accessory, besides the leather straps and metal buckles; the glove blasts rocket-like flames which allow you to hover in the air. But Tsuna's weapon outdid itself when he perfected the X- Burner version. He takes a cool stance when igniting XX-Burner, where he releases flames from both his gloves to support himself from the impact of the blasts. Sugoi!

Branch of Sin, Crow Claw
All Deadmen have the ability to manipulate their blood as weapons and Senji Kiyomasa does it with class. He takes self-mutilation to another level with the razor sharp rings adorn on his fingers - he slices his forearms to draw blood which takes the shape of scythe-like blades that extend from the length of both arms, resembling blood red wings. He also uses it for long-range attacks and can even create barriers by drawing multiple Crow Claws.

This skate series gives us totally wild and creative ideas on how to modify your roller-blades into a killing machine. Amongst all the various ATs seen throughout the show, the Fang Regalia owns the most destructive moves and has the coolest spiked-wheel blade design. Current Fang King Agito also uses four hooks attached to straps around his leg to cause maximum damage to his opponents. The Fang Regalia uses compressed air to send a shockwave that slices through everything like butter, earning it the nickname 'Shark'. (The shark backdrop that comes along with the attack also adds points to grandeur)

Which Air Gear Road would you ride?
Dark Air is a lesser known Manhwa (Korean Manga) but it has a lot of potential for magical weaponry. Into the first few chapters of the series, the enigmatic musician Mustain finally reveals his magical prowess with the electric guitar he's been lugging around through the journey. In a very Guitar-Hero-isqe manner, he unloads an explosion of deadly sound waves with every strum of his pick. The overall effect looks pretty bad-ass when he does this with his rocker locks and trench coat.
If you ignore the fashion disaster that is Train Heartnet's bounty hunter outfit, you'll find that his gun, Hades, looks pretty unique. Aside from Hades' design, its attack is what takes the cake. Once you've seen the expert marksman in action, you'll see Hades in a new light. Train is able to focus electricity into the barrel of the revolver, turning it into a rail gun which sends a burst of energy towards his enemies. Hades makes train look good whether he's reloading or ricocheting bullets off walls.
Fans of the series will know that Mugen's Geta (Japanese Wooden sandals) plays a big part of his erratic fighting style. Clad with a metal base, the sandals help deflect, parry and whack his opponents while Mugen does his break-dance like "champuru kendo". Watch Mugen use this piece of awesome footwear to stop a sword attack in mid-air or step on his opponent's weapon before delivering a blow to the face. Real cool stuff.

(Final Fantasy series)
If a 'God of Anime Guns' exist, the Gunblade would clearly take that title. Making its debut as Squall Leonheart's weapon of choice in Final Fantasy VIII, the GunBlade has gone through several modifications through the series to fit the different characters. The brilliant concept of switching between both gun-mode and blade-mode has never been executed better than through this amazing series.
