Diary of a Wimpy Kid Dog Days Soundtrack & Song in the Movie's Trailer

Updated on June 6, 2013

Music Score by Composer Edward Shearmur

Ever since the movie trailer came out for the third Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie, we all wanna know what's the name of the song "Gonna Go Away On A Little Vacation"? I have Googled as many of the lyrics as I could figure out from the movie's trailer but still can't find anything.

As far as I can make out, the song goes something like this: "The party's here it's just begun, let's call our friends the night is young. Break out the music, play it loud, let's all go crazy, let's get down. I'm going to take a little vacation..."

As soon as I track down the name of the singer(s) and/or band, I'll post it here. But if you find out first, please leave a note in the guestbook below.

The last Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules movie, the second film based on Jeff Kinney's book was scored by composer Edward Shearmur. For the Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days Soundtrack, Shearmur is back scoring Greg's adventures but no word yet if an official soundtrack CD will be released.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid Dog Days marks a turning point for Zachary Gordon who plays Greg as it sounds like his voice is cracking. His endearing sidekick Robert Capron returns along with Devon Bostick plus Rachael Harris and Steve Zahn as Greg's parental units. The fun summer movie was released in theaters August 3, 2012 and on DVD December 18, 2012.

You can catch a glimpse of Zach in the 2013 release The Incredible Burt Wonderstone starring Steve Carrell and Steve Buscemi where he plays a bully. Gordon also appears regularly in the television series, Bubble Guppies as Gil. His co-star Robert Capron who played Rowley Jefferson played young Curly in The Three Stooges, the voice of Bob in Frankenweenie, Kyle in The Way Way Back and is part of the 2013 Tarzan cast with Kellan Lutz.
