Disney Planes on DVD

Updated on August 20, 2017

When I first heard of the movie Planes and saw the trailer, I automatically started thinking this is a redo of the the movie Cars but wings were added. After seeing the movie I realized that my initial reaction was correct since it's a spin off of the movie cars however, the movie was actually entertaining. Planes is actually the first installment of a movie trilogy. Planes part 2 which is called Planes: Fire and Rescue, came out this year.

So what's the movie all about?

Dusty Crophopper is a crop dusting plane who has dreams of racing. In his spare time he practices flying maneuvers in the hopes of being a racing champion. In all of this Dusty has one big fear. Dusty is afraid of heights. A plane afraid of heights that a funny one. Dusty eventually tries out for a race and gets in. The rest is about his race around the world and his success and pitfalls. It's also about Dusty battling his fears. At the end of the movie in the credits, you see the coming soon Planes: Fire and Rescue. I think just like any Disney cartoon there's a bunch of laughs but at the same time there are some serious lessons to take away like conquer your fears. I think its a great lessons for the kids. Since this is pretty much a kids movie anyways. I think this movie is a great gift for kids and adults alike. It's truly amazing how technology has improved the appearance of cartoons. When watching this movie you see the planes flying through the clouds and it appears to be real. The cartoon like effect is almost non-existent.
