Dubstep Artists Take Control

2011 and Dubstep music has slowly but surely taken over the underground dance music scene and the Dubstep Artists are finally seeing their hard work become a reality.

So, why should the world take note of these Dubstep Artists? Indeed why should the world even listen to their music?

Who Are The Best Dubstep Artists?

Well, Dubstep originated in England but has now spread to all parts of the globe. Japan, USA, Australia and Italy all have some major dubstep artists and dubstep labels of some kind.

In Australia there is Aquatic Lab Records and the dubstep artists The Abyss, Droid Sector and Spherix. In the U.S you have Babylon System and SPL killing it on the east side but on the West Coast is where Dubstep is firing.

So, from across the globe who is the best dubstep artist then? Well, it all depends of course on what "type" of dubstep you like. Dubstep has really grown and has incorporated many other forms of music into its style. Hip Hop, House, Detroit Techno and Drum & Bass can be heard in a dubstep tunes now and this primarily because several dubstep artists added their own influence to the sound.

So if you like it rough and dirty then Babylon System, SPL and Triage will be up your ally. If you like the dancefloor/party stuff then Benga, Skream and Rusko will do it for you. If you like it a bit more minimal then a bit of Pinch or Martyn will be your cup of tea.

Some of the new talents to emerge on the Dubstep scene are Skrillex, Bass Nectar and Boregore! They definitely have their own flavor and inject the genre with some fresh new sounds.

Ghost Garage is another interesting option for Dubstep lovers as it offers a more minimal or stripped back approach to Dubstep by revisiting its roots of Garage! Burial and Ghostek are the leading lights in this bunch so check them out if your after some moody ambient swagger!

How Do You Make Dubstep?

So just how do dubstep artists make their floor shaking beats and bass? Well, for a long time the most popular sequencer to make dubstep was FLStudio but these days everyone's using anything they can get there hands on.

SPL, Triage and The Abyss are using Cubase. Reso and Sub are using Logic and Stenchman is using Reason. However, I think you can clearly see that its all software these days. No fluffing about with loads of outboard recording equipment anymore. Every thing you could every want to make music now is in your PC/Mac.

There are a bunch of new sample packs by Loopmasters.com that you should take a look at if your struggling a little with your production. They've enlisted some of the best names in Dubstep to contribute samples for you to use in your very own productions! Most of the sample are of the highest quality as you could imagine and the good news is they cover a lot of different styles of dubstep.

I love dubstep! It is probably my favorite type of music right now. I usually prefer some of the slower dub like stuff by Mt. Eden but any is good really. Just can't beat that body shaking base.

I don't know a whole lot about dubstep - but I was introduced to recently and there is nothing better to dance to at 3am.

Dubstep is amazing but i would have to say the filthiest most amazing drops would have to come from the groups called Tek-One, and of course Borgore. plain and simple there you go.. the best..
